Im in the market for a new cpu cooler was looking at the Corsair H50 but then I heard about this new system from coolit its new just released. I havent seen any reviews but sounds like this is going to be a hot product im tempted to buy and try it out but would like to know more about it. The company is hyping it as the best, any one with more info?

Thanks to Klockwork for the links copied from his post later in this thread.

Here's my collection of ECO ALC reviews so far, posted this in a thread in the CPU corner iirc so just copy/pasting it here.

Reviewer may have gotten a bad sample, but 100C under load is BAAAAD...

Better reviews here:

10-20 degrees C better than the stock i7-860 cooler, that's pretty good.

Good comparison charts here:

Very quiet, but in cooling it couldn't touch the Noctua NH-C12P when overclocked which is similarly quiet.
OTOH, he installed it pushing out of the case, which apparently isn't optimal.

Says performs about the same as the Corsair H50 but seems to be suffering QC issues.

Had a domino and loved it. Also had an Eliminator and LOVED it even more. Kept my E8500 @ 4.8Ghz at 30C

I have the H50 and it works great. I too saw that CooliT unit and wondering myself which is better. It'll be interesting to see a real world comparison between the two once CooliT gets it to the stores. CooliT does offer a unit that cools video cards as well. It works in the same principle as their CPU cooler. One fully self contained system with a cooler block and a radiator. The guy at the CES said you will never need another GPU cooler with it because it can be reused over and over. Remains to be seen it thats true or not since GPU are constantly evolving and getting bigger. With CooliT you may be able to get a bundle deal. We'll have to wait and see.

If the ECO ALC is more durable, more reliable and performs better than the Domino ALC, then it should be at least as good as the Corsair.

Have you considered kits? Fry's is blowing out Danger Den kits and SVC.com is blowing out Asetek kits.

I'm actually getting a Refurbished Coolit Eliminator with the TEC's to test on the Clarkdale. Should be a very sweet solution because it puts out almost no heat.

Eh? If it were working properly and your CPU was under load, it SHOULD be putting out a LOT of heat, shouldn't it?

At full load at 4.6Ghz@1.4v it only puts out 73W of heat. In comparison my old 4.2Ghz@1.375 Bloomfield put out 130+W.

Coolit Eliminator with Custom 120mm 100CFM Fan on High with a 3.8Ghz X3 720. Look at the CPU cores. It was below ambient. Coolit wasn't feeding the TEC's enough juice so i added alittle more power

They probably limit power so that your stuff doesn't run below ambient. Running below ambient is a good way to create condensation.

Anyone come across reviews of the coolit eco?
Apparently it's much better than the domino which was ordinary compared to the h50.

Cool let us know please!
Why email Corsair, isn't their H50 already out long ago?
Or are you asking about a successor product?

I emailed them too to check for availability, but also to see if they've sent any off for reviews etc.

I'm quite interested in seeing reviews as well. I have an H50 in my SG03 and I'm really liking it a lot. I'd prefer to see reviews from independent reviewers though that have no ties/obligations to CooliT or Corsair. An AT review would be great.

Hmm okay that's weird, I was recently talking to coolit asking for their thoughts on it.
Hope I didn't get the reviewer in trouble, there's not an NDA still in place is there?

I've asked Clunk what happened, tis prolly just a simple mistake.

404

Wonder if CoolIt asked them to pull the review or are sending another unit?

For those who read it, did the author just check for temps or for durability as well? I'm talking about the plastic barbs on the old ALC that had a habit of breaking. One review site (was it Guru3D? don't remember) broke several of them just by pressing on them with a single finger.

I literally only told CoolIT sales about the review about 20mins ago, so if they did ask Clunky to pull it they must've known about it before me. The rep. I'm chatting to wanted to read the review for himself, but of course it's down now.

It's only been out a few days so maybe clunky have been talking to coolit in the interim and coolit's asked them to pull it until they can get another unit to them? Even if they do get much better results it still worries me that they're having these QC issues again.

In the review they did comment it was improved over the Domino, but still weren't happy with it's "plasticky" feel in some places.
