I was in the market for one of these types of water coolers but I think I'll just go with the Corsair H50 if other reviews are like this one. Never had any problems with their products and the quality is excellent.

I dont' know if I want an added reservoir... and clamps with rubber tubes... Since rubber tubes ARE porous... P.S. is your 1 hr of prime of 71-72 at worse 74c in room temperature during the winter? What are summer temps when ambient is closer to the high 30's and low 40's (100+ F ambient)

yeah the review doesn't paint a pretty picture, I'm holding out for a few more though.

That review just made the ECO out to be a sad excuse of a product. Wow, it looks to perform WORSE than the Domino ALC, backed up by the review as well as the evidence of lower RPM fan and thinner radiator.

My Domino just died today. I was moving cases and the tube just snapped at the plastic flange on the radiator. I had just disconnected the block from the MB and was holding it in my hand (no movement or torque) and the plastic broke and squirted coolant all over my video card. This is the first time I tried to remove it from my PC.

So are these Domino's not built very well? Does the H50 have metal flanges? Should I just get a normal air cooler?

I can say this, Coolit has GREAT tech support. Very helpful and they are sending me a new Domino next week. They told me the build is better now, but how can I be sure? Anyone else know if it's improved? At lease my PC was off! I cleaned up the video card with Distilled water, as told to by Coolit.

yeah, i had a few leaks... actually more like "sprayage" inside my case because one of my clamps came loose. Nothing happened to the system, but blue coolant all over the place. However, I was running low on coolant, so I used distilled water. When that came loose, things started to failing...

So are these Domino's not built very well?

The build quality is okay, but they used plastic for the barbs on the radiator (unlike the brass barbs on the block). The majority of Domino failures have been the plastic barb. Sometime last year (maybe April) they changed the plastic used to a softer one that was less brittle. The radiators have a sticker on them that is the date code. IIRC the ones newer than 0415 have the softer plastic that is supposed to be less prone to sudden failure.

I'd love to know how the Titan Fenrir goes up against the Noctua D14.
Based on this & then this it sounds like it should be as good, perhaps even better.

If the latter, then that'd surely have to place it amongst the top 2/3 HS around.
Which makes this review of the latest batch of Eco's all the more exciting.

I'm not "counting all my chickens" yet though....
There hasn't been enough solid comparisons, & some early comments & the 1st review weren't positive at all!
Primarily because of a defect that was luckily found before the main run started.

I'm really hanging out for a comparison with the H50...
It'd have to be an avg improvement of at least 3 degrees for me to be interested.
As CoolIT's warranty coverage/support doesn't seem to be as good as Corsair's.

I really like the look of the ECO system, but if I can't OC to 4.0 at decent temps.. it's not even worth getting, and might as well get the more "trustworthy" corsair H50. Since I do plan on getting the FT02 now, I think the ECO would be a perfect addition to the system!

I don't have the DH-14 in the current set of Air Coolers I'm testing, but I do have the Fenrir. I'll try to get the DH-14 in the next set of Air Coolers for testing.

Sweet! So the next set are going to be tested on the exact same set-up?
It should be very close!

Either way the Eco looks to have beaten the Fenrir soundly...
So long as there's a few more reviews like that, it's looking like a good alternative to top-end air cooling.

I still also want to see a well done H50/Eco 'head-to-head'...

Yup, I don't plan on changing the setup and procedure I have. If so, that means a whole lot of retesting and that is never fun.

I know (I've been following your threads on several different forums), many people want to see the head-to-head comparison... just a matter of time. I have to finish the current load of testing before starting the next thing.
