CoolIT ECO A.L.C Vs Corsair H50

not to beat bring up an old thread, but my system is finally done, and I've purchased an ECO... System tops out at 77C @ 4GHz. but it kind of loud..

i didn't end up getting one, wasn't impressed with the reviews on balance.
there's little separating the H50 and Eco, but I decided to wait for the Eco's big brother (240mm) coming out soon.
Not so sure if it was worth the wait according to preliminary pricing...

yeah... the noise from the fan kind of gets annoying. Probably should've went Noctua NH-D14... It's a little more, but it's quieter, and it's a proven HSF.

Too bad it doesn't look as cool as the Coolit...

Ram Guy said they are going to release a new revision of the H50 hopefully between now and the end of the year, http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showpost.php?p=455998&postcount=7 I would hold off a while if you are not in dire need of one to see what they come out with next. I hope they are smart enough that it can use the H50 back plate so it does not require a full system tear down.

I like my things simple and clean

I just figured out why it was so damn noisy! I connected the Pump to my 4 pin header, and the radiator fan to the 3 pin header! I basically had to reverse it, get a 3 pin extender cable, and voila! noise be gone!

You can see the ECO matching the entire build!

Sorry, but they only had a white 3 pin fan header extender! I thought the white actually gives it some good matching contrast with the rest of the case! I have black, white, and red going on in the case! That's like the perfect theme for anything! black (absence color) white (all colors mixed into one) and the only real color going on is red, yellow and blue! Blue is the exact complement of Yellow, and red would be analogous of Yellow!

the reviews are out for H70 now & on balance its quite a lacklustre upgrade to the H50.
I've ordered the Eco 240...
