Ok here's the deal, I have a Coolmax external enclosure USB 2.0 for 5 1/4" and 3 1/2" drives. When I connect an optical drive (cd-rom, dvd-rom, etc) everything works fine. However, when I connect a hard disk to it and then connect it to the pc... the oddest thing happens.
I get two new entries in device manager, a usb mass storage device under Universal Serial Bus Controllers and the hard drives name/usb drive in the disk drive section. Now one would think that this drive would show up in my computer... not a chance. It doesn't even show up in computer managements disk manager. When I go into the properties of the drive in device manager and attempt to populate the information in the volumes tab nothing is found. I've tried multiple hard disks, all formated (some ntfs and others fat32). I have tried every jumper setting on these drives even though the manual tells me to set the drives to master. I've also tried multiple PCs with no luck (same OS though).
