www.compusavers.net has Nikon Coolpix 950 2.1 Megapixel digicam for $548.
There is a $150 rebate at Nikon site which brings down the price
to $398. Smart choice for $400 budget.

Are you sure about the $150 rebate? That used to be. But when I checked on gotsavings and techbarga1ns it said the Nikon 950 rebate is only $100.

Yes, I was able to pricematch it at St@ples. It is $535 after $40 off incl. shipping and tax. Superfriendly CSR! Nikon.com offers indeed a $150 mailin-rebate. I couldn't check it immediately since my Acrobat-Reader produces a beautiful KERNEL32 crash on my main computer...
First I saw some other stores in lowest-price-finder on Techbarga1ns offering the camera for $550, so I wasn't very excited, but then i realized that they advertised the price after rebate, not BEFORE rebate!

I just got back an email from staples saying that that website being pricematched is listing that price as after rebate. sorry; i am as bummed as you are.

If this is the case, it is very misleading. Even adter you add the item to your basket it is show the price of $549. Could staples be mistaken?

You can use coupons after you pricematch at Staples. If you want to pricematch I would suggest you call, they can and will refuse your pricematch when you do it online. That way you don't have to hassle with cancelling your order if they refuse.

I just paricematched it with Staples and the total comes to $531.79 after $40 incld. shipping and tax. Super deal!

I called this company compusavers.com, there price is misleading they will charge your credit card $699, and then use the $150 rebate.

The catch? Of course there's always a catch. This is the import/gray market camera, which if you were to purchase, you would not qualify for the rebate. So DO NOT buy the camera above expecting to get the rebate. Which is why I said WITHOUT rebate, not BEFORE rebate.

The US version is selling for $698.99 before rebate.

Now the question is, will anyone you are pricematching with know the difference between an import and a US version of this camera. It's kinda like pricematching an OEM vs retail hard drive.

Did anyone notice that Staples doesn't have the Coolpix 950 and 800 on their web site anymore?
Are they updating their site right now?
I only see Coolpix 880 on their website. You can pricematch this one too with www.thedigitaldog.com they have it for $607 with free shipping. Pricematch it with Staples, and get one of those $40 coupon... it turn out to be a very sweeetttt deal! Too bad they don't have this camera in my area. Good luck!

I just wanted to mention that Nikon makes outstanding digital cameras.

I previously owned the Coolpix 700 and currently own the Coolpix 800.

Great picture quality, enough said.

I order it through the phone. The CSR was pretty nice, even though she put me on hold for a long time but it did go through and she also let me use the $40 off coupon.
