Nice troll statement again by the OP.

Yes, it is pathetic. Obviously this shoot is a bad shoot. But they had to throw race in there like always. Well, always when it's white on black, not so much the other way around.

Yes because in your mind 50-1 means "It happens on both sides"

I'm glad in the first paragraph of the article they clearly describe that the police officer, featured in the video, is a white police officer, and the guy he shot, also clearly featured in the video, is a black man. Thanks NY Times.

It is mainly for search engine optimization purposes... now the article will be the top google/yahoo search anytime someone is trying to find news regarding this or something similar comes up again.

unarmed individual murdered by cops for no reason. Sounds like they're playing the same game to me.

Hmm shot in back for obviously no reason vs resisting arrest and inadvertently choked while effecting the arrest.

Dunno why you would even bring Garner into this. Here is about the clearest case of a cop that should be fried possible.

You don't think the dude in the OP was resisting arrest before running away?

whatevers, we can move on from the eric garner tangent now.

I'm not disagreeing with any of the hate against the cop in the OP, but based on past events I agree with the other poster who said conviction not 100% guaranteed.

I think this would be a more appropriate reason for race riots and demonstrations compared to Ferguson. Lets see what I see on the news tomorrow. I look forward to seeing that cop convicted and put in jail. Does S. Carolina have the death penalty?

Unlike white people riots because of frivolous shit. You know losing a basketball game

Wrong forum.

I will be checking in on this story, but it's still the wrong forum.

<-- Not white but I noticed sports fans don't descriminate. They riot if they win OR lose. And is it really riot? Or just a nice mix of races being dumb shits and wrecking stuff?

I understand the reasoning behind a lot of it wasn't the specific shooting but a bunch of pent up emotions and experiences, but I hated that his name was used to represent it. IMO from the facts I read, he deserved to get shot and I'm glad we're not paying for his housing, food, and medical care.

Checked out Kelly file to see how Fox would cover. It got 30 seconds towards the end of show during discussions of other topics.

Can't say that I am surprised they are hardly giving this any air time. As per usual with this kind of story... they have the comments section turned off for this one on their website, too.

I may be going out on a limb, but I think a murder conviction is likely with at least 25 years. I wouldn't be surprised if they toss around the death penalty. This guy will made an example... especially with the recent controversies over cop shootings, this dude will bear the brunt. Deservedly.

I agree. I don't think anyone is coming to this guy's defense. If it's at all possible I think the DA will threaten the death penalty and use it to force a plea for a life term.

I don't think it goes to trial. The state does not want this to drag on at all, they want to get a plea out of this guy and send him away.

I was driving to hockey this after I read the story and wondering how Fox would cover it. My guess was that they would give minimal, perfunctory coverage, and wait for someone in the "Mainstream Media" to say something stupid, like anti-cop or something, and then turn that into the story, and flog it as long as possible.

Every article about this makes various claims about what the police report says, but none of them provide a copy of the report. Does anyone have a link to it? I'm interested to see how it compares to the video.

How in the hell could that be involuntary manslaughter?

It couldn't, I'm just predicting the most likely outcome from a fucked up justice system which goes quadruple when a LEO is involved.

I don't like it, I am not advocating it, I think he should be charged with murder if he is in a death penalty state that should be on the table. I think LEO should be held to a higher standard than the rest of us and at the very least the law should apply equally to all. With that said, I also know the realities of our justice system.

Maybe we should start a pool or an over/under. My money, despite what I think he should get, is that he serves less than 5 years at most. I got $1 on 18 months served max and $2 on not guilty or probation.

I don't know, this one is not like the other ones. This one is worse.

The 2 guys who "accidentally" pulled out their guns instead of tasers were pretty bad too. They all go into the WTF INSANITY pile.

I think if he has any working brain cells he takes whatever plea is offered, only condition he should insist on is going to an ex LEO facility. I think he's dead otherwise.

http://www.cnn.com/2015/04/07/us/south-carolina-officer-charged-murder/index.html

Nice execution. Unarmed and running away, cop shoots him 8 times in the back.

AT least there was video, and he is now charged with murder. Without the video, it would have been a "good shoot" because he resisted arrest, or whatever lie the cop decided to use. Just another bad apple I guess.

That cop would've been fucked either way - the guy got hit in the back with all 8 (presumably) and the shell casings are nowhere near the body. Can't change that with or without the video. Send him to jail.
