Looks like an honest mistake and I would have no problem even if it was done intentionally. Don't run and you don't get chased. Simple.

yeah, thinking that family is about to become very wealthy.

If they do it is just a sad day in my book. Don't be a criminal or run from the police and things like this wouldn't happen. He killed himself as far as I can see.

It looks like the guy fell and the cop could not stop in time, but hard to tell. Is it standard proceedure to chasse a guy on foot, with the car? lol.

Either way, it's either that, or get shot 57 times in the chest. You don't run from cops.

No idea, but I seem to remember from watching Cops they'd typically speed up as far as they could in the car, then hop out and finish on foot - as in this situation, if he hadn't fallen and gotten hit, the cop probably would have stopped at the fence then hopped out

Yes the punishment for running from police should be death.

With statements like this no wonder we have such a fucked up society.

Oh great another one. He didn't have a seatbelt on and thats a "criminal"? Are you kidding me? Running from police does not give them the right to run you over with a car. All the police officer got was fired from his job. Well isn't he lucky. Maybe I should run over a cop and ask my employer to fire me as punishment.

No, we live in a fucked up society because there are idiots who think criminals running from facing the consequences of being punk-ass thugs should not be held responsible for injuries they incur during the chase THEY CAUSE.

If you're a criminal and you get your ass run over resisting arrest, GOOD! And if you die, good riddance! My sympathy is reserved for the victims of crimes, not the perpetrators of crimes.

The officer was too aggressive with the vehicle. That's pretty plain regardless of how you feel about criminals.

Occupational hazard of being an idiot criminal.

I saw no indication that it was intentional. Procedurally, it looks like he wasn't supposed to overtake the primary officer. And yea, he should have known you can't stop on grass worth a darn. That might count against him in a civil action.
I don't think death should be the punishment for small crimes. But if death occurs as a result of the actions initiated by the criminal, I won't be losing any sleep over it.
You break into a house to steal a toaster. No, you shouldn't get life in prison for that. But if the homeowner feels threatened and shoots the guy dead, too bad.

Your "criminal" was being pulled over for not wearing a seatbelt. Criminal not found. A "law enforcer" created the incident by chasing him for a seatbelt "violation". Your attitude is exactly what the majority thinks. The notion that it is morally wrong to defend or resist the aggression of an anointed thug simply because he's wearing a badge and that the "officer of the law" is justified in his vicious attack because the "perp" didn't "obey". Sorry but we are free individuals and no one has the right to aggress against you unless its in self defense.

If you're a criminal and you get your ass run over resisting arrest, GOOD! And if you die, good riddance! My sympathy is reserved for the victims of crimes, not the perpetrators of crimes.

Wait, I thought we had court or something before you become a "criminal"? That's out the window when a pig has to run then eh? If you gave a damn about victims of crimes, you should give a damn about the murdered man under the vehicle. Otherwise its just window dressing.

Please enlighten us all how this man was a "criminal"? I keep seeing everyone throw that word around but from the article he was being pulled over for not having a seatbelt on. Explain.

Typically, officers do not use deadly force on a fleeing suspect unless they pose an immediate threat (or are perceived as a threat) to civilians or officers. Use of vehicles to pursue an on foot suspect may be an exception depending on the scenario, and not surprising as the officers are able to continue pursuit without pausing to get out of the car.

Pretty obvious he was accelerating with the guy about 20' away. Go to the 35s mark and check the distance, then hit play and listen to the engine rev at the 36s mark.

That's damn near, if not completely intentional.

From the article, "Brown, 38, well-known in the community as a barber, had more than two dozen arrests in 20 years and was released from jail in April after serving time for drug possession. He did not have a driver’s license, investigators said in their reports."

seems he didn't want to end up in jail again for driving without a license and was probably on probation.

Oh yeah he was the worst society has to offer! Off with his head!

Criminal not found and I don't blame him for running. I would have done the same if I were him.
