This. That cop has major issues.

Bulls__t. Crime has been going down for decades and crime against police has also been going down as well.
Biggest reason cops quit is boredom. That and many of the risk come from them doing no knock warrants. shooting unarmed people, attacking those filming them, etc... police are their own worst enemies.
These Are the Top 10 Most Dangerous Jobs in the U.S.

I'll save you the reading, police are not even in the top 10.
What exactly is more dangerous than being a cop? For starters, a trash collector is twice as likely to die on the job versus a cop, fishing is 7 times more dangerous than being a cop, and logging workers, nearly 9 times more dangerous.
The majority of police deaths are not as a result of violence in the line of duty either, most have occurred accidentally rather than feloniously.

If anyone wants a short recap..
Cop: Let me see your license
Guy: *Goes in car to grab license*
Cop: *BANG BANG BANG BANG* WHY DID YOU GO INTO YOUR CAR?!
Yeah, well you missed the point -- this particular cop appears to have engaged in a criminal act of stupidity. And, cops being shot at isn't even the biggest threat they face, it's pulling someone over and getting hit by an oncoming car.
My point, though, is that cops DO have a dangerous job even if it's not in the top ten. My point is also that you have to be a moron to act in a way that puts the cops adrenaline into gear. It sucks, but sitting there calmly with you hands on the wheel and moving slowly is just common sense. I don't want to give a jumpy cop any excuse to become a target.

I've had the opposite issue. I was pulled over for speeding (I was speeding). The officer asks for my license and registration. I tell him "I have a firearm in my glove box and on my person and my registration is in my glove box." (BTW, this was at dusk)
He tells me he doesn't give a shit because "His gun is right here" and to stop wasting his time and get my registration.
I guess it's good to be white.
Also that cop is a really bad shot lol. 3+ shots that close and guy isnt dead.
im happy the guy lived and happy the cop is getting in trouble but honestly how the fuck do you fire 3-4 shots from 10 feet and not actually kill the person you are shooting at

Whenever I'm pulled over by the cops for speeding etc I am very careful to telegraph my actions and move slowly so as not to catch hot lead. This is one of the reasons why I usually take my wallet out of my back pocket and put it in the console or the passengers seat. That way, when I'm pulled over I have the wallet in a place that doesn't require a threatening reach. I also keep both hands on the steering wheel until I need to do something for them.
Part of the problem is that many people don't appreciate the risks cops are under and therefore fail to act carefully in situations like that. I'm not blaming the victims here just pointing out that cops ARE performing a dangerous job and human nature tells you that this increases the chance they will act aggressively when something isn't exactly as they expect.
It would suck to be a cop nowadays...

The sad thing is think of how many times this has happened in the past with no camera, and maybe the guy died. Cop gets off scott free because anything he says is going to be believed.
Yeah, if the guy actually reached for a gun and pulled it the cop would probably be dead.
On the lighter side, since the guy lived and the cop is in jail, its kinda funny how the victim keeps says "Awww...why'd you shoot me?? Awww...he told me to get my license then he shot me! awww...."
Cop's take a risk in many situations when pulling someone over but that "comes with the territory" so to speak, you can't just assume he had a gun and start blazing away at a dude who was getting a wallet with his license in it.
I think the cop will commit suicide.
