if you think police abuse is on the statistical rise...you are not thinking far back enough. Whats going on is there is less police abuse overall, due to increased training requirements and also the easy access of video recorders. On a side note, more instances of police uses of force are being filmed...this creates the perception that abuse is on the rise.

Back in the day you could shoot any felon who ran from you. any...felon! you think abuse is bad now? people used to get their asses beat on the regular, and citizens never had a chance to bring it up.

Go talk to any old school copper and ask him if there was more abuse in the 60s 70s or even 80s and 90s.

The truth of the matter is that any "good cop" that looked the other way or didn't take action when they see what a "bad cop" is doing is also as bad as that bad cop for doing nothing.

I would think common sense would dictate that you couldn't use a taser in that type of situation and it wouldn't need to be codified.

I have a way higher chance dying from an idiot policeman then a terrorist. i'd say that shows that police abuse is certainly a problem (and that terrorism threat is way overblown).

I seem to remember a video from a few years ago where a fatty cop tackled a light-weight suspect, causing the suspect to go flying and make her either paralyzed or brain-dead. Tackling the girl might not have helped much tbh, and from the sounds of it she is a waste of life anyways.

That's the problem I have with it.

If these were a few bad apples, fine. Why aren't the good apples firing them, or throwing them in prison?

The fact that the "good" apples that supposedly make up the "majority" of cops do nothing and in fact defend these "bad apples" - that tells me that there's a festering fungus that runs through the whole barrel.
