A white San Jose police officer who shot a Black football player “hero” who wrestled a gun away from a man at a restaurant last year has resigned after he was exposed for sending racist text messages that included, “I hate black people.”
Former officer Mark McNamara is no longer with the force after internal affairs investigators “discovered that the officer had sent disgusting text messages that demonstrated racial bias,” said San Jose Police Chief Anthony Mata in a news release issued Friday.

That is very sad and tragic.

I think the job attracts a certain percentage of people who are not quite balanced to begin with.

And then they let the job reinforce negative perceptions until it turns into hate.


At least the person he shot survived.

However, it does seem Mr McNamara will not be criminally charged. So as it is normally the case in our country, he will be above the law as a racist white former police officer.



Their will be a poetic justice to all of this in the end. If he does not reach out for mental help, the hatred + ptsd will burn out his mind from the inside out. It will ruin his relationships, make it difficult for him to retain employment, and slowly drive him into the gutter. Just reading what he is already sending from his phone shows that is already occurring. He is spiraling the drain while his victim is recovering.

Look at his posts he is sending, his PTSD is eating him up from the inside, he is mentally unhinged and unable to stop the hatred from burning its way through everything he sees. He doesn't think anyone is treating him fairly, the entire world is against him. Everyone hates him.

A lot of white guys still work in construction and a lot of ex-cops do that job. Former NYPD Officer Michael O'Keefe, who shot and killed a Dominican Republic immigrant in 1992 did construction for a while, I believe he was a welder..and he gets along well with Black people...

Exactly, he will probably work at a gym or construction. He should not be a security guard because he may profile minorities.

Or he might move to another state and become a cop.

Decertification is based on state, the federal government can't do much about policing.
