So I want to watch the Walking Dead, I used to have comcast ages ago and just watched it on demand the next day. Just wondering if any resident streaming experts know anything about getting AMC.

I have netflix, hulu, and amazon prime and an OTA antenna. So for example on the chrome cast you can get HBO GO streaming to watch game of thrones. Just wondering possible ways to stream TWD on AMC.

Semi unrelated but if you want to save some money and cut the cord even further I suggest an OBI Talk box off newegg that plugs into your internet and offers free national phone service through google voice. My mother was paying $80 a month for a single landline. Now she gets it for free with her $15 a month basic internet.

If your trying to save money then DON'T get all the streaming services at once. Switch back and forth.

You could just buy the season from one of the services. Couple bucks per episode is still cheaper than cable. Or you could just not watch that show. You wouldn't miss anything.

Personally, after I cut the cord I found I didn't truly NEED all the shows I thought I had to have. I'm happy with what I have on Prime, Netflix, and OTA. And I've found I like some football and hockey on the radio more than watching it on tv.

I buy Dr. Who, which at $25? a year is so much cheaper than the $100+/month I used to pay for cable.

For other shows I just wait a year until Netflix or Amazon Prime gets it.

If you want to stay legit, then only way is to wait for a year until it shows up on Netflix. If you have friend or family who still has cord, then you can borrow their password and watch online.

I dont mind waiting and so I get Netflix for 1 month twice a year and catch up with most shows. Rest, I use free version of Hulu or DVR OTA for most shows. 80% of shows I watch are on OTA.

They bought a Fire Stick preloaded with a bunch of piracy addons. It has nothing to do with Kodi.

Kodi is just a media player that allows addons. 3rd parties develop piracy addons and sellers sell preloaded android devices to people like your neighbors.

Also semi unrelated, but $15/month for basic internet has my attention. I'm paying around $60/month for DSL that's pretty slow (under 5 gbps) through Sonic.net. They tell me it's the best I can do with them. It does include free landline for continental U.S.A. though. My TV is just OTA by rooftop antenna, and I watch HD (and DVR) via HDTV card in my desktop. I do at times wish I had some of the basic cable channels. Can I do better???

I'm getting cable back this Thursday BECAUSE...

I currently have an OTA + 100/10 connection. This costs me $70/month.

Through TWC, I signed up for their 70 channel plan, PLUS HBO, PLUS DVR, for the recockulous price of $80. The 100/10 internet add-on is +$10.

So for an extra $20/month, I get the same internet speed, cable, HBO, AND DVR.

Bye-bye NF.

My folks have the $15/mo service from TWC. IIRC it's 2Mb down. Considering I was paying about $60 for 50Mb I'm seriously considering whether 2Mb is sufficient for my needs.

I have Comcast Limited Basic TV for $15.95/month. Yeah, it sucks but it allows me access to a lot of channels and shows, i.e., AMC, from here http://tvgo.xfinity.com/ through my HTPC; or you can stream directly from the channel's website in real time, i.e, http://www.amc.com/ by signing in with your Xfinity email/username and password.

I've been using Time Warner's $14.99/month internet for a couple of years now. Sure, I have to wait occasionally for a buffer, but that is pretty rare. I can run 3 Pandora streams at the same time + typical internet browsing and have no problems.

Then I take the $60+ a month that I am saving and just buy whatever shows I want to watch. Rip them to a hard drive and copy it to my phone and tablet and I can watch anything anywhere on any device I want without any restrictions.

I think I average about $10/month on DVDs. Far, far less than cable costs.

The only drawback is I have to wait for the DVDs to come out. But I could purchase individual shows if I didn't want to wait.

I think you can watch it "legit" through sling TV. I believe the AMC network is on there.

I think 10 down / 1 up is the best compromise -- used to have 25/2. That's what I have, I can still download games from Steam in a couple hours. Anything lower and it'll take overnight + more for a major download. Uploading to YouTube takes a couple minutes for 10 MB. Renting iTunes movies in SD takes an hour or less, I think.
