OTA still has the best image quality NS1...don't deny it!
OTA is great, for the 6 channels I get via OTA. Can't really beat the price there either.

If your trying to save money then DON'T get all the streaming services at once. Switch back and forth.

Yup. Love it! Grabbed a lifetime tivo ota (when they had the deal) and love the combo. Plays Netflix and all built in.
On topic, sling TV for a few months.
My folks have the $15/mo service from TWC. IIRC it's 2Mb down. Considering I was paying about $60 for 50Mb I'm seriously considering whether 2Mb is sufficient for my needs.

Also semi unrelated, but $15/month for basic internet has my attention. I'm paying around $60/month for DSL that's pretty slow (under 5 gbps) through Sonic.net. They tell me it's the best I can do with them. It does include free landline for continental U.S.A. though. My TV is just OTA by rooftop antenna, and I watch HD (and DVR) via HDTV card in my desktop. I do at times wish I had some of the basic cable channels. Can I do better???
Fix your antenna mate. I get about 50!OTA is great, for the 6 channels I get via OTA. Can't really beat the price there either.

OTA sucks here. 5-6 Channels:
CBS: Good
FOX: Great
NBC: Still SD, Ghosted image
CW: Still SD Sometimes is not CW and instead some movie channel
PBS: Sometimes in HD otherwise nothing
ABC: Tower fell over, no plans to re-build
There's no money in OTA anymore, I can't imagine towers being maintained except in dense population areas where they might be getting subsidies. Use it while you can!
Sounds good to me. How fast is 100/10 in terms of mbps?I'm getting cable back this Thursday BECAUSE...
I currently have an OTA + 100/10 connection. This costs me $70/month.
Through TWC, I signed up for their 70 channel plan, PLUS HBO, PLUS DVR, for the recockulous price of $80. The 100/10 internet add-on is +$10.
So for an extra $20/month, I get the same internet speed, cable, HBO, AND DVR.
Bye-bye NF.

I get a ton more than that but I usually leave my HDTV software in favorite channel mode, which is just FOX, a local station, CBS, ABC, PBS, NBC, and they all come in fine. I get a lot of other stations but mostly I pay no attention. I'm not much into TV, I watch some sports, occasional news, not much else except by DVD/BR, an occasional purchase of a box set.OTA sucks here. 5-6 Channels:

I haven't even checked them out since the cord was cut here over 20 years ago. At that time there were several people in the house and we split the cable bill. Those days are gone. I'd watch other stuff with subscription TV, probably, but the only thing that motivates me to hanker for it is the premier sports I'm missing. For instance, the Final Four this weekend is on TBS.I got bait and switched so it aint happening. Fuck TWC eh

Anyone tried Playstation Vue on either Firestick or Chromecast yet? On paper it looks pretty good - better than Sling.
ultimate cutting the cord cable/phone:So I want to watch the Walking Dead, I used to have comcast ages ago and just watched it on demand the next day. Just wondering if any resident streaming experts know anything about getting AMC.
I have netflix, hulu, and amazon prime and an OTA antenna. So for example on the chrome cast you can get HBO GO streaming to watch game of thrones. Just wondering possible ways to stream TWD on AMC.
I got a better plan. Just cut the cord and exercise more. It'll save you diabeetus pill and insulin money every month.ultimate cutting the cord cable/phone:
Ringplus phone service*: free 3k min/3k txt/3gig monthly data plan (or whatever the flavor of the week is).
3rd party tether program so u can watch on your laptop on a famous bay that's known for Pirates and kickass stuff
* A little bit more difficult now since new phones are not allowed on R+ anymore.
you must bring a Sprint compatible phone that's been in service for at least 12months.
(*cough* Freedom Pop refurbs *cough*)

That's a pretty good deal. I'm with Comcast Blast internet only and pay $82 a month for 150 down and they throttle the hell out of youtube (and anything streaming) so I wonder if the 150 is even worth it other than a solid connection for work. Was thinking of dropping another 5/month on a VPN to see if it ameliorates my throttling issues.lolsucksman. Verizon tried that shit with me earlier this year, but at least it only would have been a lateral move from my Comcast plan, so I just told the install guy to go home when he arrived.
Still rocking my 80/6 with "basic" cable (+AMC, USA, CNN, Faux, Comedy, few other random selections) + HBO + HD for $63 (After taxes/fees) with Comcast.
