I would say with 99% certainty those Super Talents are going to be Micron. 4-4-3-8 is pushing the limit of all the other modules. Crucial is a subsidary of Micron. You are guaranteed to get Micron then.
DDR2-1000 will work on the p5b-e. You will be able to do that on the Ballistix 800 though, by simply loosening the timings.

If the Supertalents are pc6400, then it's not guaranteed Micron D9's anymore. I dn't know if you saw my post or not but a tech rep from supertalent said they only guarantee micron D9's in their pc8000 line.

I got me some GeIL DDR2-800 memory from newegg (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820144028). They run at 4-4-4-12 and from what I hear, they are D9 chips.
yes the Ultra series is D9GMH.

I just got a pair of those Buffalo Firestix from Newegg, I just happened to pop in the page last week and they were in stock. After I bought them, they immediately went OOS again.
As for the RAM, boy am I disappointed. They BARELY run at less than stock speeds 2T , and will BSOD at anything past 410. I have a pair of the DDR1000 Ballistix on the way now.
My guesses are
A. They are just defective
B. They aren't new. Someone bought them, over volted them, and returned them. Somehow I ended up with them.
C. They aren't D9 anymore ? I heard alot of the less expensive ram is switching IC's as D9 is becoming too expensive. Is it possible to check what chips these are using w/o voiding the warranty ?
System is EVGA 680i / C2D E6600 / S12-600 supply

Ok, just received the Corsair 6400c4 from the egg. It's 6404v.2.1, which i guess it's not micron
I have an e6600 and an asus p5b-dlx. Should i return the memory and get this Crucial Ballistix 2GB or try it out and see what can i get from it?
Btw since i was dumb enough to get the e6600 instead of e6300 do i really need the p5b-dlx, or the Gigabyte ds-3 would do just fine? (don't really need the extra features, rather the solid capacitors). Or should i splurge and get an nF 680i?
Thanks.

Yeah, thats kinda what I am thinking. I just wanted to get that out there in case a "Pattern"develops with those sticks. I know they are generally good performers.
CMD - I tested everywhere from 1.8 to 2.4 V. trust me, their dead.. I didnt mention the Voltage, because I wasnt looking for help. Simply reporting an experience.
