SPD is also interchangable between the sets. I doubt whether there is a whole of difference. They are just warrantied to a higher voltage, that makes the difference. When you are buying a lot of the expensive memories you are paying for the increase in voltage that is warrantied.

Generally speaking get the highest voltage you can afford, as you can set your own timings/speeds to as high as you can go.

Yup, that's the only place I can see them for sale on the whole internet. Don't think their shipping charges to the US would be very forgiving, though.

I am currently saving up for some new memory. My only option to get an RMA to Crucial is to do their cross ship method which involves them charging me for the memory then shipping the replacement and crediting me when they receive and prcess my RMA set. The problem is...their retail price for 2GB of BallistixDDR2-667 is $385 so I have to pay up $385 up front.

If I'm gonna put that type of cash up front I can find some G.Skill HZ, Teamgroup, heck even Dominator 8500C4D cheaper.

That is about the right price for it though. The 3-3-3-10 Anniversary were more or less a special edition that would be limited. Now they have the full bore 3-3-3-10 @ 667 and they cost a bit more. I would recommend if you are going to pay that much to go with the 3-3-3-8 @ 800 mhz Team Xtreems. They were some good memory, a bit less performance then the Corsair C3's or 8888C4's but they also cost about $150 less.

Though that review is a joke, their overclocking results imply D9s.

I had heard before that they were, & while that review doesn't have any proof, if you can get well over 1000 5-5-5, that indicates Micron IMO...

I've heard rumors of some Infineon doing DDR2-100 now and being certified for it. Although I haven't seen any pictures of the IC on any forum. However, right now most parts that do 1000+Mhz are going to be micron.

Thr right price for 667Mhz memory? I can buy Team DDR2-100 or CellShock or G.SKill HZ for less.

Crucial is a division of Micron so will always use Micron

are these D9 chips ? g.skill PC 8000 "F2-8000PHU1-512HZ" is the part number. They are $15 cheaper to buy 2 512's than one dual kit. the dual kit is on the list of D9's.

They certainly should be, however no one really follows 512 MB dimms anymore.

So, with all these memory modules... which ones are actually rated to run at 1T? Any of the companies out there actually have stated specifications to run at 1T?

Also if you have memory that speced to run at 2T and you run them at 1T, will it damage your memory?

I ask because I set my memory to run at 1T. It posted, booted into windows, ran 3dmark06, and super PI 32M all with no errors. But will not pass memtest86. Did i screw up my memory?
All tests seem to pass with no errors at 2T

It is not bad for your memory, just harder to run. It will pass some things and will not pass others. It will not hurt your memory though.

Thanks Yoxxy. Will giving increasing vdimm help my memory to runn at 1T? Also. which ICs do you find will run at 1T easier. D9's good for running at 1T?

Increased voltage will help, and any IC can run 1T it's just the memory controller that has to handle that particular setting. That being said a more HQ IC will probably work out better.

It's difficult to run 1T at DDR2-1000 speeds so perhaps you should run DDR2-800 or something.

yes indeed. Much much better performance in fact. I'd say in the range of 10% or greater depending on what you're measuring.
