Which boards will be available? Which one is going to offer good performance and a reasonable price?

Every P965 -based board and most new i975x boards support Core Duo 2. For your needs, I would consider a P965-based board. If you are doing Crossfire, you will have to get a i975x.

CrossFire is when two ATi Radeon graphics cards work together. SLi is when two nVidia GeForce graphics cards work together. If you didn't know what it is, you probably don't need or want it.

You let me know when you find a review of the Intel BOXDP965LTCK without all the overclocking nonsense and what-have-you. I just want to know if it's stable and reliable with a Core 2 Duo Conroe E6400 on it and what DDR2 800 RAM works best on it so I can buy that setup and have none of the instability and hectic-ness of my NForce4-based AMD builds.

Thanks.

Btw, that Intel board is only $140 on NewEgg. It's P965, one PCI-E x16 slot for those of us who have no interest in SLI/Crossfire (which is most of us), and don't care about overclocking because we just want something stable and reliable.

A bit off topic, but on the boards with 2 PCI-E x16 slots can I use 1 of the slots for any card besides a graphics card?

If the card has a PCI-E interface, than yes. Otherwise, enjoy frying your system!

Yup, that's what I wanted to know. No, I wasn't thinking of putting PCI into PCI-E slot..

Any PCI-Express x1, x4, etc. card will work. The motherboard manufacturers seem to think you might want to stick a physics card in there.

anyone seen any sign of the Gigabyte mATX 965 motherboard.

and can anyone confirm that it does indeed have solid capacitors like the dailytech said, i read somewhere else that the solid capacitor boards have a letter designation in the product code which is absent in the mATX board, unlike the full ATX versions?

Ha, yea right... Physics card.

Someone show me the value of it for future gaming and I will buy one. However without DX10 out, will the physics card be worth it? hmmm.
