Ok, so I just assembled my new rig which as the title suggests contains the i7 860 on a Gigabyte UD-3 mobo in an Antec 900 case. I turned the 3 120mm fans on medium in the case and the big 220mm fan on high. That seems to be a fair compromise of noise and airflow. It seems like all my components are perfectly fine temperature wise except my CPU. Given it IS on stock cooler but in such a well ventilated case I was hoping it would be fine for a few months until I invest in an aftermarket cooler. The idle temps are mid to upper 40's, occasionally hitting 50 and my load temps are reaching mid 70's, even a little upper 70's. Given that is running SETI@Home which maxes out all cores but still. Are these numbers something to be worried about and if so I'm assuming just a CPU cooler upgrade is in store since it seems like the heatsink on the cooler is very warm but the fan is just not pushing much air through it?
Are there any fairly inexpensive, fairly easy to install aftermarket CPU coolers I could keep my eye out for a deal on?
