Look into Pilates classes at your local gym or community center. There are also a few good DVDs and books on the subject, but it is intense and you might be better off working with a trainer first.
No, because it's basically working stabilizers and core (obliques, serratus) a shitload just to keep it steady while walking. I tried doing just normal abs after a farmer's walk workout of roughly half of my max deadlift (225lbs or 112.5 on each arm) and I could barely get through a normal 2nd set of abs.
