I don't understand the reverence toward MLK, or toward the Bible.

MLK was an adulterer and it seems pretty undeniable that he plagiarized his thesis.

Yes, but he did give as an explanation that it was personal that he was justified in his ownership and made an historical case. He didn't just announce a personal opinion without defending his reasons for holding it. That, in my opinion, moves or should move the discussion beyond the reaction of gall to whether he can justify it. Personally, I am somewhat moved by his case. I also look at the difference between a man like King who was on a moral crusade and a man like Obama who has to make real world decisions that contain profound ambiguity. I for example supported Obama's use of a drone strike to kill an American citizen, but I don't like it and I don't want to see it happen very often. I'm not, were I in his shoes, going to explain to the families of future victims that I didn't take out their killer because it was against the Constitution.
