I have liscenses for xp home for my laptop, and xp pro for my desktop.
I reformatted my hard drive on my desktop for some driver issues that couldn't be resolved and I planned to re-install xp pro on it. everytime it blue screens on me while installing (several different codes pointing mostly to ntfs errors) for unaccable boot volume. (WD diagnostics tests the drive with 0 errors)
I installed xp home on it fine, but I don't like having it this way. 1 because it's temporarily illegal (until I can get another xp pro cd) and 2. because I use rdc all the time.
I have another xp pro cd coming but it won't be here for ~8 weeks (got it from a retail chain promotional)
I've tried upgrading the xp home installation to xp pro, but it does the same thing.
any ideas?
