Corsair 520HX

Hey,

I just got the 520HX from buy.com.

It is indeed silent, but when I put my ear near the unit, I hear a high pitch whine.

Is this normal? Anyone else experience this problem? Can someone test their unit please?

I stop the fan and it still whines.

With an ear on a lightly loaded PSU, I would expect to hear a very slight whine with young, undamaged hearing.
It is one of the better Seasonic provided units and comes with a 5 year warranty. I think you are looking at a non-issue.

It's likely the coils of the transformer humming, which is normal.
