Nice . Always good to see new silent cases, given that there are so few to choose from (Fractal Define R3/Mini, Antec P280).

Thanks for the heads up. Huge fan of Corsair cases and this being silent has perked my interest.

Wow, cheaper than expected. With the potential demand on these I was thinking $159 with no rebate for at least 3 months. Probably grab one from NCIX when they get them in stock here in BC.

Uh, oh.... the 550D or the R3...??? Hmmmmm....

EDIT: Actually, it has to be the 550D... it has 3+ front bays...

I might have to go with this for my future Ivy Bridge build, instead of the P280.

Woah, that thing is liquid sex, and the price is . Any reviews on this bad boy?

Corsair posts reviews of their cases on the product page, and I don't see any there... I'd guess they will turn up in a week or two, if not sooner.

Wow. I really like my current case...it's small, has a nice minimalist design and has decent cooling airflow. It's not the best for cable management or noise, though.

However, this case is just sexy. Beautifully designed and it looks like it has it where it counts in the ease of use department as well...filters on the fan intakes and such...just looks awesome. The irrational part of me just wants to transplant my new rig into that case. I know that sounds dumb...but I do think for my next build I have to try and remember this case, provided it's still being produced then.

I pulled the trigger. Going to migrate from a Silverstone Grandia GD05 to the 550D & H100. Im gaming too much for an HTPC case.

Will probably throw my GD05 up on FS/FT, unless I decide to convert it back to a plain HTPC.

I can take some photos of the migration if anyone is interested.

I'd consider it if the top i/o panel was black.

I can see where you're coming from. I mean, it's a nice case, has a lot of quality to it, works really well, top notch set of features, runs silent. Really hard to find any fault in it. Last but not least, it looks awesome... Apart from that shiny panel. Damn. Now that you brought it up, I'm sure I'd be comfortable putting that thing on my desk after all.

wow that is a nice looking case. I too was thinking about getting one from Fractal, but I think that Corsair is changing my mind.

Nice! On paper, it beats the R3 quite handily. However, I agree with the others about the silver I/O panel. It is visually jarring, and looks way out of place. Also, 140mm intake and exhaust fans would've made the case even more silent. It would be rare in this size and category. Maybe Fractal R4 is up to the challenge.

@XLNC, I thought my comment was oozing with sarcasm.

Haha, I missed the sarcasm since I was skimming through. Well, I agree with AVP then. If it's a total eye sore to you, it'd be hard to look past it.

Honestly, it doesn't look nearly as imposing as the newegg photos suggest. For example:

it has 140 mm exhaust and if you want silent you don't use intakes.

I thought the conventional wisdom is that intakes are quieter than exhausts, all other things being equal.

Edit: And I actually non-sarcastically agree about the front I/O. Without any other silver trim it seems out of place. (Especially with the USB 3.0 ports adding in a third color, which admittedly is not Corsair's fault.)

review of the 550D up on the front page

intakes are usually a lot closer to your head than exhausts are, and usually have a much less convoluted path to your ear. if i put the same type of quiet fan (say, S-Flex D) in the front of my P180, i can hear it quite easily. if i put it in the rear, i'm not certain the computer is on at times.
