At Amazon the Corsair A50, A70 and H60 CPU Coolers have rebates that make them a very attractive option. The A50 rebate ends on 7/31, but both the A70 and H60 rebates end on 7/8.

Corsair A50 $26.19 - $15 Rebate = $11.19 AR BACK IN STOCK

Corsair A70 $46.24 - $20 Rebate = $26.24 AR OOS

Corsair H60 $69.98 - $15 Rebate = $54.98 AR

I have the A70 which keeps my 2500K @ 4.5GHz 1.28vcore at 68° C with BOINC (It's 23° C ambient right now)

I have the A50.. and it is amazing.. keeps my CPU running at 4 GHz without breaking a sweat. I bought it for $15 or so from Amazon ~ 5 months back.. and the Rebate arrived pretty late. Although it has got a decent tracking system for that on their website.

Price on A50 increased to $26.18. Boo.

woot I added it to cart when it was $20 and was gonna order but didn't at first. Came back here and seen where it went up and thought I missed it but price remained the same in my cart . Went ahead and ordered before they decided to fix my cart.

Using the A70 on a 2600K at 4.4GHz and it's keeping it nice and cool.

There is one criticism, and that's the fans that come with it; they only have a 3-pin fan header. What that means is no RPM wire, and for a lot of motherboards the conclusion is there won't be fan speed control via BIOS. The 3-pin can still be connected to a 4-pin header, just RPM sensing won't work.
That IS annoying.

Two workarounds:
(1) Some motherboards offer fan speed control via voltage. For instance, Giga-Byte. That works with 3-pin fans.
(2) At least with the A70, you get an extra "in-between piece" for the fan cabling that contains a resistor, which reduces the RPM of the fans without any help from the BIOS. I use that limiter with my 2600K CPU and it works just fine. Fan noise is OK with limiter, too loud without.

Overall, for the money a great deal. You can always use your own 120MM fans, as well.

Just to make it clear; A50 also comes with that resistor piece.

Huh? Check the links in the OP.

The Amazon rebate on the A50 is good 'till the 31st, and the one on the A70, H60 and H50 is good until the 8th.

I see now. I had only clicked on the product link, and Amazon isn't listing the rebates there, despite the fact that they are Amazon-specific rebates.

Anyway, if someone's dying for an A70 and doesn't want to wait for Amazon to restock (and risk missing rebate deadline), they can go to Newegg and pay $5 more.

I'd be curious who makes the fans for Corsair. Anyone know? The reviews seem to suggest that the fans aren't all that quiet.

At 31.5 dBA and 2000 RPM, they only move a measly 61 CFM. There are fans that can move 50% more air at that noise level.

I would venture guess that the A50 is comparable and the A70 is superior, especially when a better fan is used.

Got my A50 in today. Time to replace the stock AMD HSF on my 840T, thing goes up to 6800 freaking RPM and sounds like a mini airjet engine.

Did you manage to get it for $5 AR?

I would've bought it for that, even though I don't need one.
