Gee.... I don't know... Kingston or Corsair.... lol. Are these even allowed in the same thread?

I have noticed that you have to look carefully to see what XMS ram you are getting. They have several versions, some with lower latency timings.

Well, if it was Kingston pc2700 vs. Corsair pc2700 at same price, then it would be a no-brainer. But what this guy is saying is that you can get Corsair pc2700 for $120, OR Kingston pc3000 for $89. To me, it seems like the Kingston would be the better deal.

That is true...The platinums run at lower latency...So if you want the HIGH QUALITY EXPENSIVE STUFF, grab that...=)

Granted this is sorta like comparing apples & oranges, but compare the listed specs:

Corsair ~$120 CMX512-2700C2 333 MHz 2-3-3-6-T1
Kingston ~$90 KHX3000/512 370 MHz 2-3-3-1T (CAS 2)

Don't confuse Kingston's ValueRAM line with their performance line. From all of the reviews I've read about the Kingston HyperX series, it is on par with Corsair & Crucial.
Of course, I've NEVER had a problem with Kingston's ValueRAM either.....but I've never tried overclocking it as high as my MSI KT3 Ultra will take it.
I'll probably switch to the HyperX 512 later this week.

This is my opinion. Take it for what it's worth.
