518 watts for the 520 watt Corsair and 625 for the 620 watt Corsair; how is that not full load?

All the heat generated by the load tester is dumped back into the enclosure housing the PSU and a single low speed 120mm fan (Nexus?) Ripple measurements are taken and clearly noted in the test results, are pictures really necessary?

You can see the whole testing methodology Here (SPCR Power Supply Test Rig, v.4).

So SPCR revised thier testing methodology 19 days ago on Oct.30/06...Weeee!
Will they review PSUs that never offer ad dollars to SPCR?
Oh! O'scope pics are a must in my book.

Ughh...

And how many technical reviews sites do you own and manage?

Maybe you should just stay on topic.

I'm no PSU afficionado by any means, but in the Jonny review, how "dangerous" is it that the 12V rails (whether truly seperate or not) have no OCP? I'm still using my PCP&C 425W and it only has 22A on the 12V rail which seems low to me for todays high perfor pcs. I'm considering jumping on the C2D fanwagon when Vista hits the shelves so I wanted a beefy 12V railed psu + very quiet/efficient + modular & preferably sleeved. The 520W Corsair fits the bill for me. Guess I've been gone for quite sometime, but whats up with all the tension betw GY and Jedi??

You're a silence freak Dan. The altar to silence is over at SPCR

The Corsairs are good, very good indeed. They have a 5 year warrenty compared to the
pcp&c Silencers 3, plus more wattage.
For the best for the buck consider the Silverstone 500W Elements. They have a combined 12V@35A. Das right!
Check reviews at http://www.jonnyguru.com/ >Reviews.

The Corsairs are based on Seasonics new M12 platform but w/o the aux 60mm fan. The Corsair is semi-modular while the Element is hardwired.

My comment on JY is that he has followed me around this board's forums as well as two different web site's forums always on the neffing/trolling attack

His attacks on me is what help make me a Mod at two web sites. Thanks JY

Ahh I see

I don't worship silence, just Him. I am however OCD and silence is my flavor

Thanks for the info and I am interested in the Elements as well. I knew about the Corsairs being built by Seasonic and the Sea's are "tops" on my list. With my OCD the modular just seemed like the ocd way to go

I have googled and can not find the legth of the OCZ cables for comaprison

No sarcasism at all.

Seasonic builds one of THE BEST consumer grade SMPSs and both Corsair units
have been reviewed very well indeed.

I love Lian Li cases and find no issue with Arctic Cooling Pro heat sinks either

Troubled ppl putting words in my mouth has become a common event in this forum.

so the corsair is actually made my seasonic. anyway everyone singing the praises of the corsair 620w. some say best psu they ever reviewed. it really kicks ass. now i either get the corsair or the silverstone zeus 750w thats 60a on 4 rails and another quality psu. i cant see gfx cards needing much more power in the future as they sort out the power issue and the corsair will suffice me thinks but for just £10 more i can get the silverstone. that corsair even works with xeons.

on a side note overclocking to 3.6 at 1.45v will use 148w of power.

Yes Corair is built by Seasonic. The Silverstone Zeus series is built by Etasis.
Both are to be considered upper tier. The Zeus is not loud but will not be as quiet as the Corsair.

When you get down to the lowest level all the units Seasonic make a single 12v rail designs.

Had one of the silverstone units. It had a permanent buzz that didn't sound right, and during different phases of Prime95 testing it emitted a very loud screeching noise that has been documented elsewhere. I RMAd it for a Corsair HX520W and am very happy I did. Modular cables, rock solid rails, and very quiet

Cheers,
