The Antec Kuhler 620 is also $49.99 at Microcenter (no free shipping though). Not sure which I'd rather have but I've been leaning towards the Antec. The H60 is a Coolit and the 620 is an Asetek, the H60 has a thicker radiator but I read the 620 has the pump/block from the H70, the tubes are stiffer on the H60 but also more resistant to evaporation. The benchmarks all seem fairly similar.

Not sure which has the better stock fan but I'm going to do push/pull anyway.

I've been using the H60 the past 9 months without any issues. It does the job well. You can't go wrong with either one. Corsair support is really good though I've read in case you do run into problems.

I have a 970 and using the stock cooler and don't have any issues. I don't ever plan to OC, should I get the h60 anyway?

Thanks for the help in advance.

That's up to you if it gives you a piece of mind. I won't ever use a stock cooler. Even if I'm not overclocking, the stock cooler doesn't keep the CPU cool enough for me.

How so? Just what are the differences? Is there a reliability study oiut there between the 2 OEMS or just anecdotal stories?

Back when I was putting together my latest system, I read that the H60s were prone to leakage because of changes in the units. The H70s were solid (which what I had already chosen at the time, anyway), as they were an older design.

Apparently, some people have had leakage at the L-joint into the radiator with the H60 and H100 units. It's possible Corsair has fixed the issue... do some googling though before making a decision one way or the other.

I've had two H60s and two H50s. I prefer the H60 mounting system. But the H60 is loud compared to the H50 one of mine in particular makes alot of pump grinding noise regardless of the pump speed or the voltage supplied. The new hydro series have issues with pump noise at certain voltages. I would go with the antec model.

Well, if you look on the Corsair forums, many people complain about the noisy pumps. There have been a couple reports of the pumps exploding. A forum member here bought an H80 recently, took it out of the box and it was leaking. (Same brand). I owned 3 H60 units and returned them all.(One had a noisy pump, the other one the radiator was painted shut, and the last one had missing hardware. The first Kuhler I owned worked perfect out of the box. I prefer Asetek over CoolIT anyday. Read about all the CoolIT CLC cooler failures over the web, you will be surprised.

Is a Corsair H70 worth an extra $20 to $25?

I spent the extra money for mine, and I'm happy with the decision.

Like Power Supplies, CPU cooling is not the sort of thing you want to leave to chance, either.

The H70 has been rock solid, and is quiet.
