Corsair memtest86 problem

Hi guys,

I was testing this memory:

It says it can run at 275 at 2.5-4-4-8 , but whatever i do, my sticks totally flop the test.

I was trying to get my Athlon X2 4400+ to 2.6ghz, with 260 fsb and x10 multiplier, but at 260 mhz, using memtest86, the memory got 100,000 errors, and was still going up. I was running above their tested voltage, and also with more relaxing timings, so surely it should have passed...

I even lowered the multiplier to make sure the CPU wasn't causing any problems, but still, the errors rocketed.

Any1 know why this memory is underacheiving?

I had a similar problem with some corsair value select. Most of my errrors were on test 4 which according to Ram guy (corsiar forum) could mean a failing module. If it's on test 5 or 8 he says it could mean you need to up voltage or relax timings (looks like you already did that). I ended up RMA'ing mine and bought some corsair xms which passed memtest with flying colors for 8 passes.

Cheers, yeah it was on tests 5 and 8, so i guess more voltage and even more relaxed timings were needed

Although... ive managed to get my X2 4400 up to 2.6 ghz, which im v.pleased about (Must have been some sort of divine intervention )

what bios are you using for what board?

i have a dfi board.

i upgraded to the tccd 4400's and i also got 10000000000000000000000 errors as well.

i flashed to a newer bios and BAM errors all gone.

got the sticks up to 316 stable 2.5-4-4-8 with 2.9 volts
