Isn't that what current z06's start at?
I would be VERY surprised if GM kept pricing the same.
Clarkson will still hate it.
...well, he'll love it. But then he'll hate it. Per TG rules for hi-po American cars. Hell, most hi-po cars that aren't Italian (or English).
Absolutely ridiculous in every good way possible. Bravo Chevy!!!
1. I think it will look best in black to disguise all the distracting bits.
2. Can't wait to see the inevitable tests against the GT-R.
GM claims it is faster than the current ZR1 around their test track, so I imagine it will punish damn near everything short of a $1 Million hypercar a la 918 Spyder.

Those are just screwed up renders using c7 stingray interiors as a base because that's an automatic dash display/paddles with a manual shifter. They probably took an auto interior and shopped in a manual shifter for some baffling reason since there should be plenty of manual shots for them to start from. Both models have paddles. On the manuals they say rev match, and on the automatics they have the +/- like in this shot.
I wouldn't read anything in to an artist's mistake. That shot is neither an auto nor a manual. It's someone's mistaken mash up of both.
No. As with the regular Stingray, the paddles are for engaging and adjusting the rev matching system, the both have +/- on them.
Nope.
I should know. I have one. The paddles on the manual say "rev match". The paddles on the auto have the +/-. The manual never displays a "P" indicator on the dash like that one is. That's an automatic with a shifter photoshopped in for some inexplicable reason.

I like how you compared a damp top gear lap to a dry one too.
Cherry picked implies that there was another test what was dry, but that doesn't even exist. Maybe you should ask the Top Gear guys to do another test because you feel butthurt at the result?
BTW, I picked two completely different tests which everyone would recognize: Top Gear and Nurburgring. You cherry picked what you wanted and completely ignored the Nismo.

Face it, the Nurburgring is the de facto standard, and there's only two cars faster than the GTR: the Radical and the Porsche 918.
And IIRC, they subtract additional time for the track being damp, so the real time ran should have been higher on the Top Gear track.Cherry picked implies that there was another test what was dry, but that doesn't even exist. I also don't understand why people are so upset the GT-R beats the Vette. American superiority complex? The GT-R is an absolute beast of a machine, in every way imaginable. No shame in that beating you, especially if you're in the same price range. Now, if you're a million dollar+ car, well, you got some 'splaining to do.
A Nismo edition that came out how many years later?
That is not to take anything away from this wicked GT-R, however, which ran around the Ring in 7 minutes 8.679 seconds when fitted with special track options the company will sell to whoever ponies up enough cash. (Nissan promises youll be able to own a GT-R like the lap car for less than $200,000.)
