Nice $75k car indeed, but I hate red on a car. I'd get a shark grey metallic version if I had the $$$.

i believe KentState works for GM...so he might not have paid MSRP.

Beautiful car. Love the red! Sports cars belong in bright colors

Beautiful, beautiful car. While I agree with you on the Chrome, it doesn't look that bad in the pic. But then again, I am sure the picture doesn't do this car any justice.

I can just imagine how that Corvette sounds, and how it handles. You are very lucky!

And you have two great reasons to drive safe - Your Daughter expects that car for her 16th Birthday...

Grandfather worked for GM. Saved nearly 10k off the MSRP. Pretty much anyone can get up to $6k off with the credit union discount. Just have to be a member and find a dealer willing to sell for that price.

More interior pics please; nothing about this I don't like.

I was waiting to give the window tint some time to dry. If it can bake in the sun a little today I will be able to remove the top and get decent interior pics.

I am not usually a fan of Corvettes, but this new model is absolutely gorgeous. Congrats!

You probably know this because I think you're on the Corvette Forum too, but you get 4 free oil changes in the first two years. Some time this summer GM relented on their "oil life monitor at 20% or lower" policy and you can go in whenever. I would still get confirmation from the service department.

Speaking of oil changes:

I did the first one myself at 1600 miles (during the aforementioned "20% or less" time), but since they changed the policy and I'm going to store it this weekend I decided to go into the dealer and have it changed. I went to a Chevy dealer that had at least two 2014 C7's on the lot so I know they have a trained tech (who I also know is probably not doing oil changes).

I was in a hurry to get going so I signed the paperwork, gave the car a once over and headed back to work when they were done. When I got home tonight, as I was filing my service records, I noticed a "7" next to the oil on the itemized receipt.

I had just got home so I went out and checked the oil - barely on the dipstick. I had oil pressure on the drive home and only put about 25 miles on it so I'm not too worried.

I have a Z51, which as an oil capacity of 9.8 quarts. The base model holds 7, so that's what they put in.

Now it's probably partially my fault for not noticing that at the dealer but should I really be expected to know my car better than they do? That's the service department's job and that's why they exist - for people who don't know their cars well enough to do their own service. They entered the VIN so it should have been in there.

They were closed by the time I got home so I'm going to call them in the morning. Needless to say I will not be following the instructions of the service writer and filling out "excellent only" on the survey when I get it. I guess I will find a different Chevy dealer for service too.

^^ I actually dropped my car off today for the first oil change. I'm right at 980 miles so I asked to have my first one done will fixing some other issues.

The main things that need fixed are an issue with GPS cutting out. Appears to be an interferance issue on the '15 models between the PDR and GPS antenna. Also found that the spoiler was not bolted down on each corner. It's as if they used the tape and center bolts, but didn't even bother on the outside ones.

I'm holding out on my purchase experience survey until the get this stuff right. If the dealer gets it right, then they will get good scores, otherwise I have no problem dinging them also. I will double check the oil change receipt and also check the level after the car goes through a cool down. From what I've read, you need to wait 5-10 minutes of cool down after driving to get an accurate reading on a Z51.

Just wanted to update what I did with the front grill. Installed this one last night. Like it much better than the stock/chrome strip version.
