Would you racists please be quiet!? I'm trying to enjoy my last issue:
LOL... like you aren't Self-flagellating right now. Oh wait, you're not, you're a fucking poseur.

Then it would be consistent for democrats to simply do away with unions.
The teachers union being the first to go, protections be gone.
4 pages of nothing, when Miller was simply right, which is why you see the mad scramble to imply racism when the argument is already lost.

The urban young people are also brainwashed (conditioned) but in a totally different way. But you may like this form of conditioning whereas the rural conditioning is not to your liking. Not just anti-intellectualism, but contempt for increasingly urban young people. Folksy wisdom of rural people who have been brainwashed and wrong about pretty much everything for the last 40 years is considered the guiding truth. Education and enlightenment is seen as a threat.

The educated people are just as empty, shallow and pathetic as the so-called rural people. Yeah, they might dress better, talk better, repeat their professors better, regurgitate lines from books better, etc. but deep down, they are more similar than we would imagine.
Most people seem to think that this world is getting better due to an increase of educated people; however, I have many doubts. I'm sure most here would disagree but oh well.
We all need to stop judging people too much and putting them into neat little boxes or groups. We are rapidly becoming more tribal by the day despite the increase of educated people among us. We are are all now boxed into our little affiliations based on self labeling or someone else doing that for us. Just as we've always been - nothing more than tribes. But now, we act as if we're all that.
Keep the clever comments coming.

So, uhh, who's been stirring up this "culture war", anyway? You know, for decades?
How many right wing talking heads, thinktanks, politicians & media organizations do I need to name?

Acosta was deliberately being combative. Bad form for a news reporter....good form for a "news" reporter. Maybe he can get a slot after Madcow.
What heresy is this? Are you insinuating that Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity and the rest have done anything other than raise the level of discourse? You disgusting filthy liberal scum.... how fucking you dare you!
Don't you mean the Sexual Harassment network? Not that any of their lemmings care. They'd rather shout Rachel Maddow is an ugly lesbian.I'm so ashamed. Really. Put my head on a pike outside Fox News headquarters.
Those people are playing their role, playing their part and playing their character. They exploit a certain part of society just like the other side exploits their part of their society. This society has been exploited and manipulated by all sides and in all directions. So, uhh, who's been stirring up this "culture war", anyway? You know, for decades?

Any truly serious person would realize that Limbaugh, Savage, Hannity, etc. are hate and fear mongers. They are there to keep this left vs right game going and to satisfy their loyal base of hardcore political fanatics. I'm sure the left side has their characters but in a totally different way.
Societal conditioning is not limited to one area, such as radio or TV. If you ask the guys on the right, they would likely tell you where these sources of liberal messages are. They have been trained to fight their opponents - the leftists. It's a pretty pathetic world that we have people running around hating their fellow man because of the nonsense they've been filled with. You can't name prominent characters on the Left who deal in bullshit & spread the FUD to anywhere near the degree as the mouthpieces of the Right. You certainly can't point to patterns of belief among Libs nearly as far out in the weeds as the well conditioned minds of conservatives.

The space shuttle and the like were built by the Nazis, by the way.I place the value that is brought forth from the educated classes in much higher regard than I place those values brought forth from the reality TV worlds of rural America. But that is simply common sense to recognize that the class of people that brought us the space shuttle and the internet are more useful to humanity than the class of people that prefer to watch Honey Boo Boo and read short tracts.
I find it fascinating, if not a bit disturbing, that you and people like yourself choose to take these two classes of people and create a false narrative that would put them on equal footing. Though I suppose it is easy to rage and moan about the elite smarty pants's and their smarty ways, when doing so from a position where decades of conditioning have buried you beneath a culture where the only defining personal trait that you value is "I am better than anyone, simply because I believe it." You have been well-conditioned by the 4 or 5 monied families that dumped this Trump bomb on the world, only to insure their fortunes at the expense of everyone's misery.
Yes, the right has Masters Limbaugh, Hannity, O'Reilly, Jones, etc, shitting into the skulls of tens of millions of Americans, every single days, for decades. Along with duly elected right wing politicians who do the same.Societal conditioning is not limited to one area, such as radio or TV. And, right now, somewhere, there is a liberal blogger with 9 active commenters peddling the same level of bullshit.

Conservatives, who literally yell over the radio and television, for decades, for everyone to hear, about how libruuuls are traitors and hate America, and have direct lines to elected politicians to scare them about primaries from the right if they even remotely act as a reasonable conservative ala 1970s Republicans. The right wingers will say that your side controls the entire education system, tech companies, Hollywood, etc. So what?
You say they control this and they come back with their counter arguments. You both argue like little children night and day thinking you're making a difference.
Keep on playing your little liberal vs conservative game. The ones who designed this game always win while the ones at the ground level (i.e, YOU) get to bicker with your fellow man. Thus, creating more friction in this already divisive society.

The picture had been the same on the other great frontier of technology in the second half of the twentieth century, namely, the space program. The engineers who fulfilled one of man's most ancient dreams, that of traveling to the moon, came from the same background, the small towns of the Midwest and the West. After the triumph of Apollo 11, when Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin became the first mortals to walk on the moon, NASA's administrator, Tom Paine, happened to remark in conversation: "This was the triumph of the squares. " A reporter overheard him; and did the press ever have a time with that! But Paine had come up with a penetrating insight. As it says in the Book of Matthew, the last shall be first. It was engineers from the supposedly backward and narrow-minded boondocks who had provided not only the genius but also the passion and the daring that won the space race and carried out John F. Kennedy's exhortation, back in 1961. to put a man on the moon "before this decade is out."
