Cosnidering upgrade to Ps4 pro from PS4

I might do this. gamestop offers a trade in of $125.

I think the best path though is to buy the Ps4 pro. Use the version 4.0+ software on the PS4 to transfer all data to the new Ps4 pro. Make the Ps4 pro the primary Ps4. Wipe the Ps4 (old). then sell it for about $200 used. I get my data and extra cash.

Is my guesstimate on the selling price of a Ps4 used on EBay accurate? I'll try to sell it at work first so I don't have to sorry about scammers and other crap on EBay.

My TV is a 4k TV but sadly is not an HDR model. My interest is because I have Fallout. I never finished it (played about half) and they announced that they will be updating the game with a better graphics package for the Pro model.

And the dumb question of the day. The Ps4 pro uses the same exact controllers as the PS, correct?

Yeah they use the same controllers. All PS4 support HDR though, not just the Pro.

I looked over the game list. It would be a $200 upgrade. I don't think it is worth it. I think I will end up being a hold out for the PS5. Granted the way things are going, I have a feeling that all games for all systems will be backwards compatable. I honestly view the PS4 Pro as the Ps5. I just expect another hardware bump for the Xbox and PS4 every 3 years to give us next gen power and backwards compatibility. Eventually though, they will have to upgrade the architectures entirely.

I did the upgrade from ps4 to pro and it's gone fine. I'm not sure it's quite worth it yet, mostly because the games aren't really there yet to take advantage. Maybe soon.

That being said, it was pretty easy to transfer everything over and the extra space is nice.

I gave my ps4 to my brother and bought the pro when I got a 4k TV. Overall it has nicer visuals so games are more pleasing to play if they incorporate HDR correctly.

I kept the Xbox because I'm interested to see what happens with scorpio so I have something to trade in later.

Don't do it. Xbox one S isn't that great if you already have a PS4. The install times and constant updates is really long. Didn't enjoy that at all. My X1 collects dust, and it doesn't have enough good exclusives.

It's extremely appealing and something we've wanted since the Pro released. It seems they may have needed more time to work on it, plus the fact that it can make some games unplayable, maybe that's why they took so long to get this out. Either way it's a very welcome addition. I definitely plan on going back and playing some games to see how much better they run.

Controllers are revised, but even the new slim comes with the revised controller. The retail package for revised controllers says only "for PS4." Older packages say "for PS4 or PS Now."

You can see your controller's light color through the touchpad without flipping it around. You can also use USB communication instead of Bluetooth (for lower latency?).

Pro + PS VR is awesome, but pricey.

VR requires the PS4 camera. Some VR games require 2x Move wand controllers.

i have both, and both have SSDs in them. the pro is noticeably faster/smoother at everything
