Just in time, my 20 years Sony Vega just crapped out on me. Yeah, costco.com is down for now. Did anyone pick up the wall mount for $40 at costco.com?

Geez, what is that... a bedroom TV? The res is too low to be a computer monitor so you gots to wonder....

I got a 60" Sony WEGA in my living room with the same res and what do I need this for?

I'm happy for the dudes that think this is worth having but honestly, not all Black Friday type deals are worth buying or lining up for.

I love the RossMAN but even he would agree with me on this if you don't need something.
No thread crapping. If the subject matter of a deal does not interest you, do not post negative comments about it, or about other members, in the thread.

I find some comments hepful - those that clarify the use for an item, or point out flaws, for example.

Thread crapping like 'Who wants an LCD tv they suck!!' are thread crapping; comments like 'what's this for, the resolution is too low for a PC monitor' can be helpful.

It's a thread crap b/c he's stating a 32" isn't good besides using it in a bedroom. Secondly, this deal isn't a Black Friday deal. For a lot of folks, 32" is plenty if you live in an apartment or don't want to spend lot's on a tv.

EDIT: And readily available, meaning not standing in line for 4 hours black friday.

Home Depot has a 32" lcd HDTV (ASTC and NTSC dual tuner) that is supposed to be for black friday but many stores are selling them early. They're going for $470 and you can use a 10% coupon to bring that down. I bought one for $460 with tax.

our living room a 37" widescreen would be just about perfect... maybe 40". 32 is going a bit backwards w/ our current 36" w/vega. I haven't looked into these widescreen hdtv's.. but started to look because I feel like i'll be missing out on my Wii w/o widescreen.

But damn, hdtv's are expensive

I bought one, after like 5 hours the site finally came back up and started working right.
I was guna wait until BF but I like the Costco warranty and I at least know this one has a tuner before I get to the store lol.

Total came to $641.99 after tax.

Well, I hope it's a good one, but I'll wait for your review.

Does this mean I get stripped of my title?

Costco return policy is worth beaucoup $$$$ !!!

I see a lot of praise for the Costco return policy, but I bought a tv from costco.com, and the price dropped $264 two weeks outside of their price match policy and they wouldn't do anything; I spoke with a store manager about the return policy in general and she said she has discretion and refuses returns she wants to.

When I mentioned the price match situation and asked if that wasn't against their interest because someone could return the )two months) old tv and re-purchase at the new price, she said she would never accept a return unless there was a better reason, so that wouldn't work.

I'm left a bit unclear what the great Costco return policy is. What do they do outside the manufacturer warranty?

I found this policy on their site:

Returns or Exchanges
Costco.com has a 100% guarantee on all of our merchandise. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, we offer two convenient return methods. Costco.com refunds include shipping and handling fees.

1. You can return the item to the nearest Costco Wholesale location. To find a location,
please click here.

2. If you are unable to return your order to one of our warehouses, please e-mail us at
customer service. Please include your name, order confirmation number, phone number, and
reason for return. You will be contacted regarding your return within 5 to 7 business days.

Please note, as of November 4th, 2002 , the return policy for all desktop and notebook computers are six months from the date of purchase. Six months after purchase, all computer services and technical support will be subject to the applicable remaining manufacturer?s warranty.

-------------------------------------------------------

hey craig i returned plenty of things at costco. you met a manager who was misinformed and seemed to be a bit of a power tripper. get her name and report her to corporate and return the your tv.

best

Just bought one.

What's the best way to hook this up to my computer? I have an X1800XT with dual DVI. Should I use a DVI to VGA adapter with a VGA cable? Or a DVI to HDMI cable?

Thanks.

That thread is still useless, since the TV is a freshly released model and people hasn't seen it yet.
The just purchased units are still in transit.

as far as i know the Wii only supports 480p, no hd in either 720p, 1080i or 1080p
