Guys, I'm still having problems with this TV.

The VGA doesn't display in 16:9 ever, even if I'm outputting a 720p signal. In fact, it seems like only the HDMI display option will bother displaying 16:9. I tried setting my computer resolution to 1360x768, but the television displays "out of range" for a few seconds and then displays the desktop and repeats this pattern. I can get 1280x768, but I can't use progressive scan.

If I connect my computer via HDMI-DVI cable, I can get 16:9 displays. However, 1360x768 doesn't display correctly, the screen flickers a lot. The only resolution that really works is 1216x676, which doesn't even make sense. 1280x768 doesn't fit inside the screen, you can't see the sides/top/bottom.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

I am very happy with my Komodo 32" LCD even though it's my first LCD tv.

It's big (coming from a 20" CRT) at an 8 foot viewing distance
plays 720p files from a PC with video set at 1280x1024 via VGA and those look REALLY good
SD is watchable (looking at switching to DirectTV after their new HD sats are launched)
DVD looks a bit better than SD
I mostly watch standard capped size tv files in .avi 580-620x380-400 or so. Depending on the capper's work, the result can look great (BSG dvdrip) or pretty blocky (BSG tvrip)
I don't have an Xbox or anything like that
I don't watch tv using the Komodo's tuner (VCR out to tv and the VCR is my tv tuner)
I don't use the Komodo's speakers
I watch 4:3 tv in 4:3 normal mode (no stretching)
Channels like NatGeo that show a lot of programs in 16:9 mode display with bars on the side and the top. This is where I use the zoom aspect and it looks fine and fills side to side and top to bottom.

The stand isn't very sturdy (I'm planning on wall mount anyway)

That's about all the bad I have found.

Very happy 2 weeks in.

Thinking about getting this for my parents to double as a TV and monitor for their computer.

How's the image displayed by the computer (for those who use it as a pc monitor)?

Hi Everyone. Thought i should mention that i bought one of these for my brother and he loves it. For $600 bucks you cant beat it. I am very happy with the purchase. The color and picture quality is excellent. I am running it with my directv and it works great. I havent tried running a pc from it but i might do so when i have some time. Everyone who is thinking about this, i wouldnt hesitate. Now take in consideration that my sony blows this away. But my sony was 3 times that price. I only compared this to models around that price and for me personally its the best. Sure i could have spent several hundred more and gotten a sharp (which is easily my top two brands) but than where do i stop. A couple here and a couple hundred there...600 bucks for me is the sweet spot.

Very happy with the purchase.

Would do it again and i just might and get my parents one as well.

Would it work well as a computer monitor? It seems like it might look a little stretched out and/or blurry.

I went to Costco earlier looking for this and they didn't have any, wasn't on display or anything, there is another Costco about 35 mins away though, maybe i'll check there.

My monitor broke and my TV is old so I'm thinking I might be able to replace both of them with this LCD TV. I'm sure it'd be nice for TV, but not sure about computer stuff...gaming, reading text, etc.

I know a lot of people have already posted on this issue, but I'm always looking for more opinions.

I have my 7800GT in dual view mode. The tv is hooked up to the video card via DVI->HDMI cable. I have the resolution set at 1280x720. Setting it at 1080i causes the jitter. It works fine as a monitor. Text is perfect.

DVD's playback is beautiful especially using nvidia's purevideo codec. I don't even use my upscaling dvd player anymore and I bought it for the sole purpose of using it with this tv.

Hi guys, I'm really considering getting this TV, but I have a few questions about Costco's policy. So is it the case that if I buy this, I can return this to any Costco at any time throughout its lifespan? Or does this apply only to Costco members?

What if I become a Costco member just to buy this, and then discontinue my membership later on. Does the return policy still hold after I'm no longer a member?

My brother told me they scanned his membership card when he returned his TV, so you probably may still have to be a member or at least re-become one before you do a return later.. but cant say for sure...

Sure it's online only? I've seen 'hot deal' threads about this at different forums and none of them said online only, not the OP anyways..

I thought Costco was cracking down on the 'unlimited warranty' deal -- what's the deal with that? I've been a Costco member forever, and will continue to be... but I never used (or abused) the warranty so I'm curious. I also only really buy groceries and tennis balls from there so... never needed to

I haven't noticed a delay in the audio, and the speakers to me seem about as decent as you could expect from stock built ins. The remote is pretty small and cheap feeling, but just reprogram your universal and you're set. Also, remote may feel cheap, but it does everything you need it to.

well...I have returned one thing to costco because it broke. There a re a bunch of @$5Ho|3s who have taken advantage of their policy by returning laptops and TV's because they "were not happy with them" after using them a year.

I would buy one but I'm not paying to become a member just to order it. I don't have a store warehouse within a couple hundred miles.

It is online only

I bought one for my younger brother and he is very happy with it. He uses it with a HD cable box and PS2.

I've had mine for a few months and so far I'm still happy with it except for:

1) remote sucks but I can live with that.
2) I'm not an audiofile and prefer using stock speakers. the speakers suck suck suck.

Other than that great picture and the QAM tuner is awesome. I can watch HD channels without renting an HD cable box or DVR.

I watch SD through my VCR, so the remote is only used for switching Aspect and adjusting picture controls. Once I go to HD, it will be through Directtv, so I'll be using the remote from the DVR/Receiver for channel switching.

I'm not RossMAN, but I have and it's amazing. I watched some 1280x720 HD sourced files and they looked great. Regular sized files looked okay. Very watchable but not HD quality of course. The odd thing is my video card did not like the closest setting to the tv's native display of 1368x678, so I had to set it at 1280x1024. Things were kinda stretched as far as computer monitor use, but the video files looked great.

Until a standalone xvid player that handles 720p is released, I'll be moving the PC out there to watch HD files.
