Costco Deal - MS Encarta 2002 5 Disc Encyclopedia $14.88

Thought some would like to know I saw Costco in Carson City, NV selling Microsoft Encarta 2002 for $14.98 after rebate (something like $48 up front).

The website has it for just under $19.00.

Good deal - cheapest I saw online was about 45 plus shipping - as this is 5 disk I know it is the big Encarta Reference Library - but the exact product name is always helpful.

I wish someone would offer a deal on the DVD version. I hate swapping those disks. Or, I wonder if they have an "install all" option (like MSDN). In these days of 120GB disks for $119 (see Fry's), it would be great just to keep this online.

I have the DVD version, and it lets you install it all to your harddrive so you don't need the DVD again. I am almost positive that the CD version has the same option. I think the full install is just under 3 gigs. The DVD version has a bit more than the CD version (more videos, I think), but they should be pretty comparable.

Yes, CD version can be "all installed" to hard drive.

ANy good reviews of this comparing it to Britannica so far as depth goes? (I know Encarta is far more polished and fun; but I've also read it hasn't nearly the serious depth of Britannica.)
