Yeah, prices are good, although the cheapest is ordering from one of the online places, if you know your size frames, PD (pupillary distance, measure between pupils) and frame choices, etc.
BE VERY WEARY of whoever may be managing the eyewear department at your individual Costco. One of the arms broke off of the first pair of frames i had gotten there only three months earlier. I took them in expecting the same great customer service they are known for, and the asshole looks at them, starts scribbling on a piece of paper and hands me the name of a eyewear chain store and the persons name to ask for at the adjacent mall! I immediately went into postal mode! I said if they won't replace the arm then I am returning them. He tells me the eyewear department's policy is separate than that of Costco, I demanded to see something in writing, especially since I had bought "Kirkland " branded frames. Tells me their eyewear has NO warranty, I'm like do you really think people would buy here if you disclosed that? Walmart even has a one year no questions asked guarantee! He doesn't care, and tries to dismiss me. I said ok, fine, then I will at least cut my loses at the membership desk and get a return on that, you can ask for a refund of your membership at any time! Then he got nervous, and came around to seeing my view, (not really) and agreed this ONE time since they were cheap $39 kirkland frames, which I loved regardless of the maker, he would get replacement frames, but only this once! As I was leaving I said to my Mother "ok, if the next ones break then I will get my membership fee refunded! After returning home and researching for any info on the policy, finally pulled up a page from their own shopping
'magazine" The Costco Connection, an article/advertisement about their great in-store eyewear department. And in the article it states "and they even come with the same no hassle return policy as all the other great Costco items! (Except electronics, which generously comes with double the manufacturers warranty...) I printed it up and gave it to him as I was leaving from picking up my new frames, telling him "So did you lie to me about the policy on eyewear just because you enjoy f-ing with people, or are you really just clueless and in a position that your not trained or qualified for?! " I actually think I saw a black man turn red! I have a world of patience and compassion for anyone, even a fast food worker, because I have been in those shoes. But don't BS me just for the heck of it because you either get off on it or your working a job you hate and your misery wants some company...
And the new glasses they put my lenses in? Same name, model number, color, etc. but on the new pair where the arm hinges to the frame was different, way beefier, like there was a problem in the original design maybe?! Now the new manager (the old one left after "someone" complained about an experience very similar to mine...?!) is totally helpful, even let me know there were several other inexpensive frames my my old lenses would fit into, while I saved up a bit to get a new pair of Mikli frames at a later date... If someone doesn't like their job and doesn't care if their doing it right, there's someone else waiting to take their place that actually wants the position. If we all do our part to make things right then we all win in the long run...
