You are such a cheap bastard. First of all, we didn't need an ipod review here, everyone knows what they are. Secondly, why would you buy it if you knew you were going to return it? Just trying to be a jackass? Third, there are plenty of third party programs that can mount the ipod as a drive (www.anapod.com).
^^^I'm with that guy. There's no reason to abuse a return policy like that. OP also did NO research into how easy it is to turn an iPod into a drag and drop device.

Me too. Costco will someday discontinue thier generous policy. Like always, a couple fsktards destroy a good program trying to take advantage.:brokenheart:

If you want to easily play videos on a nice screen, a PSP is a better option.
except you don't have the space to store the info
The memory sticks just get cheaper and cheaper. I can fit about 5 movies on one 2gb memory stick, that's not bad at all. More than you'd need in one day....
Second, for the most part it's the manufacturers that eat the cost of the return, not Costco.
I honestly don't think Costco would change their return policy even if a larger number of people begin "abusing" the policy
It's more than rumor. So if you are interested in a real video iPod, then wait for a month, or buy from Costco to return. (Your $100 membership covers returns). I own 3 years old 3g iPod, it's really solid device without any problem works for 6 hours every day. I surprised that people complain about iPod quality considering that new models have to be even more reliable. Probably complains go from competitors.Originally posted by: robby69
Rumor has it that Apple is coming out with a 3.5" screen video ipod in April. That will get me to Ebay my psp and Ipod Mini to get one.

Although the OP is not "abusing" Costco's generous return policy, the part that irks me is that he is encouraging others to just go out to "try" an iPod, then return it if you don't like it. It's not hard to read reviews first, and check out the player at Costco. Last time I checked they had stuff like this laying out for people to try out at most other retailers such as Best Buy and Circuit City.

Costco guarantees 100% satisfaction. That's on their policy because they stand by all their items and are sure enough that you will love it when you purchase it. That means if you're not satisfied with it for any reason, you are encouraged to bring it back and return it.
It's hard to try out electronics before buying them. Reviews can tell you nice things about the item, but it's all subjective and really doesn't tell you how it will work with what you want to do with it. Even going to best buy and trying it out for 15 minutes doesn't give me a good feel for the item. I can't put it in my pocket and go jogging with it, I can put it in my car etc. There are a number of reasons I can think of where I would want to really try out a 200-300 item and be able to return it if I'm not satisfied with it.
