Costco or Sam's Club?

My Sam's Club membership ran out and I'm about to move to a new place where the Sam's Club and Costco are right next to each other. I've heard good things about Costco, but I've never been. I'm basically going to buy stupid amounts of in season fruits along with stuff like laundry detergent.

Which one do you prefer and why?

Well, Sam's Club tried to make it in Canada but folded. So we only get Costco here.

I've never lived any place that was even remotely close to a Sam's, but I LOVE Costco.

Since you mentioned laundry product, Costco's Kirkland laundry detergent is pretty damned good.

I've never lived near a Costco until I moved up here to Missouri. The deep South is a Walmart stronghold.

We used to frequent Costco but then we moved and ended up much closer to a Sams club. It makes me sad because, at least around here, Costco is much better. Most of the products seem close but we do have some preferences. Makers Mark TP > Kirkland TP. Costco pizza > Sams pizza. Costco employees >> Sams employees. Costco store quality\cleanliness >> Sams store quality\cleanliness. The Sams by us always has much longer lines than Costco did but that could be the area since its in a denser population area

The lines in the Sam's Club here are absurd. It reminds me of going to the Air Force commissary with my dad as a kid. I'll go check out the Costco here today since the memberships are good nationwide and I want to see if they've got a huge box of blueberries

I've always preferred Sams. They are similar, but the products I use regularly are better at Sams... don't recall the specifics anymore but I went a few times to Costco with a relative and did not find maybe 1/4 of the stuff I regularly bought at Sams.

Although now I buy mostly different things... might check it out again. OH and I also thought Member's Mark products were better than Kirkland, but again not a lot of overlap there for what I wanted.

I prefer Costco because the food options are better (especially the meat), the mattresses are better, and frankly the TV/electronics deals are better.

Sam's Club membership is $10 cheaper than Costco so that's something to consider. Sam's Club is 2 miles and Costco is 5 miles from my house and I still go to Costco.

I've only been to Costco so I can't speak for the rest but I love Costco. I go there every week for milk and eggs.

I've had both. I currently have a Costco membership based solely on their canned dog food. You'll make do with either to be perfectly honest, unless there are a couple things that are essential to have that only one carries (like my dog food example), it will not matter that much.

I have used both myself and prefer Costco. That being said there isn't a huge difference between them and I have seen more deals on Sam's Club memberships.

My company prefers a certain pharmacy, so that's what I use.

I go to both Costco and BJs. Each have their pluses and minuses. No interest in anything Walmart related.
