wife just got hired there. starting is 11.50, and EVERYONE that is hired now is considered parttime. 90 day probation, and from what employees say, less than half of the hired people dont have a job on day 91.
50 cent raise every 6 months(actually every x hours worked) guaranteed.
do you just buy your beef from costco and resell it for your website?
Ignorance is bliss. You really should do some looking sometime. When was the last time an item went on sale at Costco? There are many products that are consistently more expensive at Costco.
Yes, almost everyone that is hired is hired as a temp employee.
They evaluate how you work, and if you don't do a good job, you are dismissed after your 90 days are up. And then, they just don't call you back. It is like a try-out for employment.
you apparently don't know how costco works if you think you don't pay a membership fee for access to shop there.
My college MGMT class we had our final case study on Costco and not only do they pay you $40K to work in the store but the only way to get into corporate is by starting at a store. They are a firm believer in promoting throughout the rank and file.
Now go to walmart and their employees are working maybe half the time, or at least at half speed.
and its really hard to get on. ive known several people who have been trying for years to get on at costco and have had no luck. im real curious on what it takes to get your foot in the door with them just as a floor associate.
Maybe Costco negotiated a special exclusivity deal with them?

ever year of getting a rebate? my rebate this year was just over 300 bucks, membership is 110. so yea it cost me nothing to be a member.

Ignorance truely is bliss for people like you. I avoid Wal-Mart like the plague. And it all has to do with their business model and they way they treat employees. They may be technically cheaper than Target but not by enough to warrent giving that shit hole of a company my money.

all the time. i get a mailer showing what going to be on sale for the upcoming week. i must say the tyson popcorn chicken with rib meat were like 4 bucks off. and delicious when baked and tossed in a salad.
I believe Trader Joe's is another retailer that pays their employees well. I love shopping at that store more than Costco. Costco has good customer service. Trader Joe's is a grade higher and has excellent customer service.
kind of a bad point. target redcard cost zero in annual fees, nothing to shop there and you get 5% back.

You almost have to know someone who works there. That is how I was hired as a temp. They get stacks of applications every week. But, they try to promote from within, so you have to start at the bottom. The available jobs are posted in the break room, employees get first dibs at them. The only jobs that ever get past that, for outside people, are the lowest jobs. If there is a new Costco opening near you, you have a better chance of getting hired as an outsider. But, most of the positions are filled by people that already work at other stores and want to move up. So even at those stores, it is mostly the lower positions available.
