OP is confused because Costco doesn't sell Uncle Ben's Rice.

They sell the same brands as other local markets; the very same bulk bags you'll find at the asian market.

My local costco switched brands one day and only had this. I made the mistake of buying it instead going elsewhere for normal Jasmine.

its not a perfect comparison but there are many different potato types as well, low starch, high starch..waxy etc. if you use the wrong type for your dish it won't be as good. that being said none are disgusting like the costco rice. cr@p aint gonna turn into gold.

It's not Costco rice per say, it's the Blue Ribbon rice that has started appearing to replace its previous Jasmine counterpart. If you're expecting Jasmine, the Blue Ribbon is totally different.
