Ahh, somebody else figured that out too. That's mainly to get rid of some of their excess cardboard.

They always put my stuff in a giant box.
Already have a membership, but thinking of not renewing it.Then don't get a Costco membership?
I think I have a fairly decent understanding. People are complaining about losing Amex in their Costco lives. Costco is supposed to be about bringing advantages to their customers, but taking away their customers' ability to use their Amex is contrary to that point.Apparently someone doesn't know how merchant processing and the fees associated with it works.
I've been getting a bunch of mailers from them lately. Got one for Blue Cash and one for a Gold Card.
Edit:
Hmm "The American Express Premier Rewards Gold offers 50,000 points after spending $1,000 with no annual fee the first year, meaning those 50,000 points are worth about $950"

Ooh where do you see this? I don't see it on their site yet. This makes it much more enticing.

After getting the previous message about bumping my balance a bit, just got my first offer for a different card.
Blue cash
3% Cash Back at US supermark
2% Cash Back at US gas stations
2% Cash Back at select US department stores
1% Cash Back on other purchasesets, up to $6,000 per year in purchases (then 1%)
There was also a statement about getting a statement credit after making a $ level purchase but seems that didn't survice the c&p.
I think I might be moving away from my Amex Cards after all.
Their customer service is still top notch. I called in because they charged me interest when I paid in full and removed all my charges. They offered me the Blue Cash card and a 50k bonus on the gold card.
However, I just got approved for the Chase Ink Plus card.
https://creditcards.chase.com/ink-business-credit-cards/ink-plus-card?CELL=6MST
That makes most sense for my business because we deal in all office supplies. All of my product costs will have 5x points
As soon as I clear my balances from my current cards (I booked all of my friends' flights to take advantage of the cash back ) I am applying for the Chase Sapphire card.
https://creditcards.chase.com/credit-cards/sapphire-preferred-card.aspx?list=4,2,1&CELL=63WS
2x points on travel and dining. Night clubs count as dining. I'm going to be swimming in points
I have the Chase Ink Business as well, it's definitely not half bad. It definitely plays a role in my maxing out cashback.
I love the 5% back on Cable/Mobile Phone bills. I just stuck those suckers on autopay to the Ink card. Office Supplies doesn't exactly matter since... well... I don't really have a business
But if I ever do want to buy shit from Office Depot/Max/Staples then I'm covered
I'm a reseller of ink/toner/printers etc. All of our vendors are classified as "office supplies" from what I see from other cards. Hopefully they're classified the same way with Chase The way we are now, we could probably hit that 50k limit in a year.
What kind of limit did you get on that card? Chase has always been super stingy with me on their offerings. My Freedom and Slate are tiny and the Ink Plus was just a meh. BoA did an instant approval for double the limit on a card for me vs. Chase who took a few days for approval.
I guess I don't spend enough? Limits aren't usually a problem for me unless it's a particularly large purchase (EX: I purchased $2.5k in furniture and EASILY hit the Stupid $2k limit on my USBank+ Card... I set the category to Furniture )
But between Chase Categories, Discover Categories, and Citi Categories, it's not too often that I hit the limits. And it's very often that one of the 3 will copy the other.
fake edit: Ohhh, you mean ACTUAL credit card limits. I don't do actual business, just standard consumer purchasing so credit card limits are NEVER a problem for me. But now that you mention it, Chase is definitely weird though with theirs. When I opened my Southwest Business they wanted me to half my Ink card to obtain credit limit from it (instead of just... straight giving me credit limit?) I didn't give a shit. All I use it for is small bills, and the Southwest one I opened was going to be for the sign-on bonus and that was it anyways. For reference, my Ink was given ~12k, so they halved it to $6k to give to the new card.

Sure, but depending on the area and the price of cardboard, it can cost more to handle it (flatten it, palletize it, etc.) than can be recouped by recycling. So they get rid of as much as possible in an easy way to minimize labor expenditure as well as provide containers for customers.I'm not so sure about that. They get paid by the pallet when they sell the cardboard to recyclers. Don't they?
This morning I got an email from Amex about their new relationship with Sam's Club. The offer is crap. You get a whopping $25 one time credit for joining Sam's and using your Sam's Amex. And they had the f-ing nerve to tell me !41K people got it.
Um, how many Costco folks had the Costco Amex? What fucking assholes!
It's like a nice guy dating a hot chick, then getting dumped to the curb, and now dating a very unattractive female with a grating selfish personality, and asking all the old friends if they want to come to their party, which will be serving free hotdogs and soda.
