Costco Westinghouse 42" 1080 $599+tax B&M

I returned the first tv, hooked up the new one with the dvi to hdmi cable set the res to 1920X1080 @ 60hz, plugged it into hdmi 1 and turned it on, all is good now, upscaled it with the ati drivers and it looks amazing, I will try to get the sound on when my cables come from monoprice, I have a regular hdmi coming. the colors are really vivid if you ask me and pretty amazing looking, I am watching a dvd and no blue screen, that first set must have been a lemon for sure. I hope I dont have to use the warranty because shipping this thing could be spendy, so I will see if its been dependable before the 90 day costco return policy is up and if it works till then I think its a keeper.

Yea there is no doubt fastcuda these make nice big computer monitors, I use my TX47 for both a TV and a monitor in my Bedroom, Everything is connected to it. Dependability is in high question though, As mine I thought was done until I took it apart and put it back together and it started working right again. Been good for over a month now since doing that. They are not worth fixing, They are throw away, Mine cost me $1300 and I have no plans of paying to ever get it fixed, Its junk if it quits working. For the price you paid I would have no problem throwing it away after a few years use.

For the first year I think you have to rely on the manufacturer's warranty service, whatever that entails, but for the second year you deal with Costco. My experience with Costco was that they first try to troubleshoot it over the phone, then they a guy to your house to take a look. They'll order parts if they can fix it, and if they can't fix it they'll authorize a return for a full refund.
