Plus if there's one thing a president does not want to do it's bowing to a monarch. Even recognizing a monarch as a significant entity is a bad look, if for no other reason that the presidency of the USA is a temporary position. It would be so out of keeping for a POTUS to attend a coronation of any kind.

Well, you are overstating the case. Trump's attempted insurrection to keep himself in office is high treason. Attending a coronation wouldn't be treason, it would be a face palm. IIRC, Biden's wife is attending.
