Could Motor Week be any less interesting?

John Davis droning on about the latest Lamborghini should come with a disclaimer about the dangers of falling asleep while listening.

He gets to host as I'm pretty sure he created the show 30 years ago or so. I don't mind that he's boring but they almost never have anything bad to say about a car. We all know that's impossible.

Don't' care about ugly or fat, but - I will agree with the awful show. I used to switch to something else when it was about half through, eventually just couldn't handle it at all. Pretty much forgot about it, guess it's still on?

I actually like Motorweek. Probably because I grew up on it. Started watching back when they were young and not so fat.
They actually review cars. Unlike topgear or the other "entertainment first, cars second" shows.

John Davis's voice, pitch, delivery, tonality, everything has that same insincere, skin-crawling inducing vibe that a late night infomercial narrator has. Everytime I watch, I always expect to hear him say, "But wait! There's more!"

John is okay but Yolanda Vazquez????? Then there's Pat Goss with his 30 year old bowling shirt. I really like watching reviews of cars like the Bentley Continental GT or Lamborghini Huracan since they are both on my short list. MEH!!!!!

Through the 80's I watched it on a regular basis.
During the 90's I watched it less but if it was on I'd watch it. As for the recent shows, I don't watch TV much so I've only seen a couple.

Its a car review show.
Its not a variety show that happens to includes cars or a show about 3 blokes who drive cars no one buys on roads that no one (at least in the states) drives on.

Davis's delivery is questionable. Goss is getting old and dishes out some bad advise at times. Sure. I don't care. I'm interested in the cars that people actually buy. I could care less about cinematography. I could care less on the quality of puns. I actually like that they walk you through the car.
Top gear doesn't review cars on their show. Its barely about cars nowadays. Its about the hosts and what they do with the latest Lambo\Ferrari\Porsche\<Insert any high end car here> and how they can make it pretty for the TV audience.

Some of the changes Motorweek made over the years I do think are stupid attempts at staying "current".
If they went back to the original format, one or 2 reviews using the original formula. A quick shop segment and then maybe a comparo I would DVR it.

John Davis has one of the most annoying voices I have ever heard. I find MotorWeek mind-numbing in that he uses that same phony-enthusiastic voice whether he's talking about a Ferrari F12 or a Buick minivan.

Yolanda Vasquez brings nothing to the table, and the Goss's Garage segment - which could be very interesting and informative - more often than not comes off as just a badly informed product sales pitch.

It also really irks me that John Davis's blue blazer is about 2 sizes too large. If you're going to be on television at least wear clothes that fit.

Ever seen old Top Gear? Like from the late 80's to early 90's? Just like MotorWeek, except once in a while Jeremy Clarkson or Tiff Needell shows up to tell you about the size of the trunk in the latest Hyundai Accent, or the ergonomics of the turn signal stalk and mirror adjusters in a Ford Festiva. What's really weird is Clarkson's accent was noticeably different back then.

Speaking of 30 year old crap shows...how can Gearz with Stacy Davis still be on? That guy has the worst hair since Gene Simmons. My stomach gets upset just listening to him talk. I think my favorite car show of all time was Shadetree Mechanic.

All it is a half hour infomercial. The projects are neat but obviously it's all paid for by parts makers.

I don't have a problem with the show, I have fond memories growing up and watching it with my dad.

I'd rather watch it than listening to a bunch of limeys talk about sports cars.
