I have a PIII 1ghz slot1 chip that runs at 133fsb. The board I originally bought for it was a BE6II r.2(BX chipset). I don't want to go into details since they are long and drawn out, but I've burnt up two of these Mobo's with this chip and the processor ran crazy hot in it as well. (The chip runs fine in my friends Soyo with BX chipset, but he has a decent vid card that can handle the AGP OC.....the vid card I have for this system is BASIC as it gets). My only explanation is that since this board does not natively support the 133fsb the system just can't handle it.

In summary: I'm fed up with the BE6, I'm going to RMA it and sell the board to recoup. What I'm looking for is a motherboard that has the right multipliers and natively supports the slot1 at 133fsb so that I don't have to overclock the rest of the system just to run it.

Any suggestions are very appreciated

I have a supermicro that has had a Slot 1 133 1Ghz in it for almost a year an a half. No problems whatsoever. I just replaced it with duals in a Tyan Tiger, I'd part with the super micro if you were really interested. Other wise, I'd recommend a Supermicro in a heart beat. I've got at least 5 of them floating around the server room, and no probs with any.

Hi there

I currently have an ASUS P3V4X Slot 1 motherboard, which is running my Socket 370 PIII 1GHz using an ASUS Slot1 to Socket 370 (Slocket) Converter card, has been BRILLIANT for about 16 months now.

It supports 133FSB - and is so good, I've got 3 of these (running varying Slot 1 CPUs) in the family !

Unfortunately, since I've moved on to P4, I am looking to sell this one, but I don't think you are in the U.K, otherwise you could have had it for a GOOD price

Anyway, I would recommend this one, as it seemed to be one of THE best Slot1 m/b for PIII 1GHz Coppermine 133 FSB processors.

PS : I never really tried O/C due to the Converter card - if I had a standard Slot 1 CPU, I would have...

I would have to second the vote for the ASUS P3V4X. Just make sure to flash the bios to rev 1006 beta 002. I have had great results using this board. I have my P3 550 running at 826 so thats not to shabby.
