Well OdiN just tried and got a not enough RAM message... anyone with more than 2gb willing to try?

Why don't you resize the pictures a bit? Do they really need to be huge?

I think he needs to print it and wind up with something that's like 20 feet across, so yeah.

Oh wow, put that thing to work!

I'm thinking that the trouble might be that photoshop changes everything to .psd files on open, which inflates the size a lot... maybe a different program might work better. I tried Ulead 360, but it couldn't handle the filesize. Does anyone have any other programs that have a photomerge-like tool?

I have autopano-sift, enblend and hugin w/ panotools but I have never used them and dunno if they would work without more RAM either.

I'm having trouble downloading it. The transfer stopped somewhere around 50MB. Now I'm downloading it again but it's only transferring at 45KBps.

I tried to load these images into hugin - it just crashed when trying to load the image. I'm thinking because they are not standard RGB format so I'm going to try converting.

Also the reason firefox won't open them is because the JPG is not RGB format.

Probably. I'm guessing that this operation will need 4GB at least.

Well Hugin still crashed with the pictures in RGB format. They are probably too large for that program.

I'm fresh out of options.

I've got some quad-Sparc boxes here with 8GB of RAM, but Solaris doesn't run Photoshop (That and the boxes are not on the internet)

Then fire up that thing's BLP and enable DTTR! You should be able to RPS the DMBS before lunch!

1.2 gigapixels makes this a software problem rather than a hardware problem.
