it's different from source because the mechanics are more like 1.6, and it is what what source should have been.

and for the record, they NEVER need to make a CS game with 3rd person cover.

Not CS. Play any other generic shooter.

CS doesn't need to change basic mechanics. It's doing better than CoD on PC anyway(any version, even 10 years old one against any version of CoD on steam).
Inclusion of dumb mode(fast respawn team deathmatch) makes it more viable for new ADD FPS generation.
With low price, long support(unlike yearly CoD $60 release) and community support it will gain a lot of audience.
I don't know about modding on consoles though.

it's what makes cs diferent. making it like the newer fps does nothing to improve the franchise and keeps the fan base happy.

A lot of the inadvertent mechanics turns out to be loved by a lot in the CS community, and the absence of aiming down sights is one example. It's such a core fundamental that sets it apart from other shooters (which there is a vast saturation of).
