Just bought the CS pack to play (I play CS:S casually and use to play 1.6 competitively)
After hearing lots of rumors of it being more like a return to 1.6, I was excited
After playing the beta for 30 min (only against bots, I am dissapoint)
Pros: Niceish graphics
Pros: New weapons
Pros: New gameplay elements (molotov/incendiary grenade is cool!, decoy grenade)
Pros: New map details
Cons: Removed gameplay elements (no silenced weapons????! at least in beta?)
Cons: Not 1.6 hitboxes
It feels like even more of a devolution from 1.6 than CSS was. They one shot taser kill thing seems stupid to me. I really miss 1.5/1.6 for the ability to knife-headshot someone and kill them in one hit from front or back. That made it so fun to pwn scrubs in pub...
And why did they take out the shield? It's not as if it was overpowered, only against noobs. I miss the balance of 1.6 (CTs had the shield, Ts had the slightly more powerful AK47)
I'm not going to enjoy CS:GO nearly as much as CS:S without the silenced M4 if there really isn't an option for that
I am curious to see what will come after the beta specifically in maps. New gameplay styles aren't bad but I wish they would do something really new (like the AS hostage escort missions in earlier CS) Why did they eliminate those?
As it is now I like playing CS:S, if not just because it's so easy to destroy people coming from 1.6 and earlier. When I'm feeling really serious, I play 1.6
At least deagle headshotting is still ridiculous in GO, and they didn't mess that up
Also the new weapons are basically useless, I do like the compact shotty though. I don't get the firepower rating system in the buy menu unless it's glitched- the shotguns have like 1 bar of firepower?
