man, those were the days...

wow. I totally forgot about that map. footsteps were crazy on that map. I think there were a couple audio clues depending on which site the ts would run towards. There were a couple on aztec and some of the other maps too.

Well, maps can be modded in, but things like suppressors and footsteps need to be improved.

there are already some competitive versions of maps that make the game even more enjoyable.

So far I'm digging it. I'm playing the PS3 version, and it's giving me the same old school vibe. Some of the traditions are questionable in this day and age though. No hitmarkers and no auto team balance...thats kind of archaic.

Still, Im getting readjusted to how much more fast paced it is than cod, which seems kind of crazy, since that's probably the fastest game still being made.

I've never been a fan of hit markers honestly. I feel that it makes it a little too easy to spam shots especially when you're wall banging. In 1.6 people would listen for the dink sound when you hit someones dome. Also cs is a fast paced game. I'm not so sure it's faster than cod though. COD maps are bigger but there's always some action unless everyone's camping out a spot. I went back to playing quake live for a few weeks a while back and that honestly felt faster than anything.

Oh yeah, quake is way, way faster, but that style has been dead for years. There's no doubt CS is faster than cod though. The raw movement is faster, there's no ADSing to slow things down, no need to sprint, no camping for killstreaks, etc. Comparing apples to apples - CS vs cod S&D, it's a pretty big difference. I never really liked cod s&d as much as I loved CS, although I could never put my finger on why. Pretty sure it's just the pace.

This version of Cs brings back memories...Basically like the old days with better graphics and a little bit different of an aiming system. Kind of pissed I can't silence my M4... People still camping out with AWPs too. Ahhh memories...

Never understood the awp hate in the community. (Not referring to you specifically) It takes a lot to master the awp.

So Im not home yet, is there any big changes from the latest beta build to release?

yeah you're definitely right. I forgot there's limited run in cod. It feels like the characters move a little faster than they did in the older cs'. Or maybe it's been a while since I've played a fps. I don't know if it feels quite like 1.6 but it definitely seems like it's more punishing on the player that's not going for headshots.

I just gave it some a bit of time tonight. I'm having trouble identifying Ts vs CTs, which I never really had in CS any version. I dunno, I'm just so stuck in my ways after playing CS 1.6 for a long time and CS:S for even longer

How? They made it easier by making all of the skins for a side the same on a map.

Also there is that map in the upper left corner that shows where all your team members are. On top of that, everybody on your team has a color (red for T and blue for CT) triangle above their head when they are running around you. More over...The CT outfits are generally always of a blue variant, so when I am T, if I see anything blue move, I shoot.

This version will take a bit getting used to as I am so used to BF3 and COD. Everytime I have my mp7 or M4 out, I right click to aim down the sights..but alas.. I can't

My memory of 747 spontaneously came back....the CTs started the the terminal, and the Ts in the plane. One of the first maps IIRC, I remember it was back when the fire rate of the pistols was limited right?

Man, that was such a shitty map lol.

I played a lot of GO last night, love the new demolition mode.

I know the map you're referring to. It was also cheesy because the plane had curtains separating first class from coach, but all you did was walk through them like smoke.

Yeah, its annoying. Also, when I use zoom its a toggle and not a hold, which messes everything up. I thinking I should stop playing this. Its going to give me bad habits for when when I start playing BF and MOH again.

Also, 747 was pretty sweet. Always dreaded going into the plane...so many camping spots, but the level was such a great idea. Perfect for CS.

You can change the toggle/hold in the menus.

What is up with the M4 now? Recoil sucks so bad at long range.
