Counter Strike Question.

You can Either Buy Half-Life and download the CS patch or buy CS retail.
I recommend just buying half-life and downloading the CS patch because
you can put so many more mods on HL then CS: retail. Hope this helps.

i'm just wandering... what is the min requirement (processor and memory) to play CS? My roomate is crazy about it, but he didn't know anything about computer. All he knows is install, and play the game.

Yeah, If you have a fast connection (which helps during game play) then just get HL, then download the 1.1.0.8 patch for HL, then download the CS 1.3 patch, and you're good to go. If you don't know where, go to PlanetHalfLife. From there, you will get redirected to FilePlanet, where you can sign up with a bogus email acct. Just remember the email addy, so you can come back.

hrm, i doubt sierra/valve and id would share the engine, but anyways.... JOYSTICK!?!

I never got the hang of the mouse/keyboard thing & was under the (wrong) impression HL used a modified Q2 engine.

from my understanding half-life is based on some of both the Q1 and Q2 engine with a lot of Valves own code.


yes, a joystick will work, all you gotta do is go to "controls" then "advanced" and check the "enable joystick" option :]
