CounterStrike problem.

I've installed and patched Half-Life , then downloaded CS 1.1 and installed it (3 times), but when I try to enter "Training", I get this message:
" Map Change failed: Tr_1 not found on server."

Am I installing the wrong thing? Can someone furnish the link to the exact file I need to play CS? I've got HL patched and ready to go. Oy!

but there is no single player training mode for cs

I think the retail version of CS had a training system. That may be why you don't have the map since you're using the free mod version.

Ya th training does not exist in the non retail version of the mod. Just go online and find a nice server with 6+ people on and learn how to play.

I can't get into training and even mlutiplayer.Everytime I join there'll be error in the map format/different from the one running on the server.Shit.....!

Make sure you have updated Half-Life to the latest version, using the autoupdate, or downlaod the patches on your own. You have to be using the latest versions of both half-life and counterstrike for things to work.

dave5317, make sure in the "Filter" menu that you choose CS as the game you are trying to play, and make sure that you pick the proper filter check boxes.

I was only able to get it to work by installing CS10.exe, then using that csv1011B.exe patch.

Also if your downloading to upgrade the retail CS, don't forget to download the "missing mapack".

Patching it didnt work for me this is how I did it.

Install HL.
Run the CS exe
go to config or controls
update HL

i have been using podbot to train when i have had problems with lag online...i just take a little break and play some cs with bots...good practice to get used to how the weapons work and how different they are. THis way, you get a chance to actually use them before everyone kills you

The problem probably lies in the fact that you have the retail edition, and didn't d/l the right patch. You must get the CS Retail Upgrade Patch, which is different than the standard upgrade.

The standard upgrade is for those that are using the free downloadable one. The Retail upgrade patch is for those using the standalone CS retail versions, and includes the extra maps that you'll need to do the training.

You may also want to d/l the "Missing Mappack" update as well, although it isn't supported by valve. I believe just grabbing the Retail upgrade patch should do the trick though.
