Never underestimate the ability of the Trump admin to manipulate the media. I seriously doubt complicity at the editorial level from either organization. It makes no sense.

I fucking love you liberal snowflakes.

Trump says "FAAAAAAAAKE NEWS!".... you say "It's real liberal news! He is trying to absolve himself! Treason! Lying! Throw him in prison!"

Trump says "Venezuela is a shithole, we stand-behind a democracy there, etc..." You say: FAKE NEWS!

Oh the irony. Pointing out your own leftist extremities without any help. What a fucking retard.

So, I'm supposed to swallow the conspiracy theory that CNN & NYT are in cahoots with the Trump admin? What planet is this, anyway?
I wouldn't go so far but they do lie to support certain agendas no matter who is the President.

They quietly changed this report after more than a day. I see 2 choices here, either the reporters are too dumb to know the truth, or they deliberately mislead. On further thought, they have to be dumb in both cases as nowadays it's pretty impossible to hide this for long. Pre social media, then yes. Everything in the blue is false. The election was last year, Guaido was not the opposition leader as there are many political parties with their own leaders and finally, Guaido did not even run in the election.

I think they have shitty or compromised reporters in Venezuela. It's also important to remember that the anti- Chavez/Maduro headset is something a lot of Americans wear w/o understanding it at all. We don't really know shit about Venezuela other than what the MSM says & that's mostly what our govt told them was true.

I wouldn't only say Americans, I think most people are in the same boat. What a depressing thought. Governments tell the truth, was it ever true?

CNN, etc, is very popular in my country, and in spite of seeing with their own eyes, some still repeat the same points. What I told one friend who believes as I do is don't confront but just ask questions.

Have you seen any sick or malnourished refugees, for example. It's amazing to see as they try to reconcile their own eyes with the US MSM news. Besides the basically economic refugees, we have a lot more who come here to purchase items and return. The government here recently allowed the resident ones ID cards and the freedom to work legally. I plan on hiring some next year, each from a different family, as this issue with Venezuela will last a very long time.

I have to add the ugly underbelly. Some of the beautiful young women are being exploited and the criminal elements from Venezuela are starting to appear. Parasites always attracted to their food.

Sometimes, anyway. It's ironic that American conservatives so deeply distrustful of govt managed to elect one that definitely can't be trusted about much of anything.

For someone that has repeatedly claimed to not even like him, you sure suck Turmp's dick every chance you get. I don't know, maybe you're finally using actual logic and thinking that Turmp sucking Putin's dick by transitive property you sucked Putin's dick too?

The irony is that you clearly have zero clue what irony is because every single post of yours is a perfect example of it.

So how many dinners has your family told you to eat shit instead lately?

As usual, no retort when your hypocrisy is pointed out.

Typical liberal cuck.

I was right the first time. I mean, you know, a staged media event isn't much of a coup no matter how much Bolton & Pompeo say it is. Now they're starting to go on about military intervention. John Bolton never met a problem he couldn't solve by putting a whole shitpile of ordnance on it.

I had typed out a longer response to one of your earlier posts but can't bother doing that again right now. I just want to point out though that the way you keep talking about MSM, well its a dogwhistle to right wingers, especially of the dumber, conspiracy minded sort (that often tend to be let's say, they rather like white Christmases, and every other day as well). Just keep that in mind (as you seem to not be American so as you're talking about the disconnect between American media and Venezuela, you might try and recognize you too have a disconnect between cultures that, I'll be honest, I think is doing the same thing you're complaining about but in the opposite direction where you're enabling the people you are taking issue with by effectively supporting one of their central claims for why they're being the way they are but notably why they're raging about and choosing to ignore stuff like facts as opposed to what they want to believe).

He's not there to solve problems (seriously, I don't think that's ever been a consideration for any aspect of his policies). Its to fuck shit up and hope that the US can reap the rewards by rebuilding it and making the new regime more friendly to American interests.

Which I'm sure you realize it and are just stating his method for dealing with all situations is war.

So Trump supporters see FOX as not part of the MSM and trust them fully? Real question. When I criticize MSM, I mean all the big names, including such as FOX, BBC, etc.

I remember the time when I read a rebuke by an international leader of the BBC having 2 visually identical videos with different words from a doctor in a facemask posted at the same time and rushed to see for myself. It was about the 2013 Ghouta chemical attack in Syria. In one the doctor said the people had burns and in the other she said chemical attack. Totally identical except for the words. Someone in the studio probably made a mistake and posted both on the website. The file names too similar? That really removed the blinders. I double check everything now and see the lies keep flowing. Any politician trying for more social equality are being attacked throughout the West by all the MSM. Not a coincidence.

Trudeau in Canada pretending to be progressive and leading the Venezuela affair. Macron in France voted in on improving France and pissing on the population after. Your own country, Maddow asking her audience to see Bolton the aspiring butcher as just another human being, all pretending Sanders have no chance and pushing everyone else to the fore.

By the way, I don't have sides except for what I think is just and fair, and the best way to to deal with some of the fools here is to just ignore them. You're never going to change some minds so why waste time, unless you like to poke, which I can understand.

Meanwhile the Maduro regime is doing their own fair share of looting, I guess they're trying to catch up with Guaido. I personally don't care what form of government the country has (if they want Chavista style socialism go for it) but it is sad they'll be reduced to a Haiti level economy before long and may never recover.

Sad because it is the inevitable result of their choices or because the US will Sanction them to death?

of course all the media that portrayed Guaido as the voice of Freedom and the Venezuelan President as the Evil Thug will not report this except for maybe a short blurb near the end of the hour or as a page 16 story.

What a bullshit article. Venezuela sells gold for liquidity, for foreign exchange buying power. They're hugely dependent on trade & Bolivars have little value. The fact that US sanctions are designed to keep them from getting what they need in the world market doesn't dent your consciousness in the slightest.

I'm fine with them selling all the nation's gold to enrich themselves. The sooner Venezuela hits rock bottom and the remaining populace reduced to $1/day poverty the sooner something better can rise from the ashes. Everyone but Maduro and his cronies will be eating rocks for dinner like in North Korea, but you'll be happy because "income inequality" will be low since no one has any money and there are no rich people.

Okay, I'd also be fine with progressive run states like Illinois bankrupting themselves with their spending so they can hit rock bottom and something better can rise from the ashes.

How's that? I have more if you want them.

Point remains that if people want to live under faux populist systems that are based on antipathy to "the rich" and are destined to make them poorer than when they started, that's their right.
